Matte or High Gloss Wood Trim?

Just curious to hear feedback on which wood trim is preferred, Matte burl Walnut, or High Gloss Laurel? I like them both for different reasons, the high gloss requires low care, but the matte burl looks more natural. How is the care of the Matte Burl Walnut, does it show smudge's and smears very easy?

Matte

I debated for a long time and read many threads here and elsewhere debating the pros and cons of each.

Although I did like the fact the the Laurel was somewhat darker, I went with matte and absolutely love it. I have had numerous compliments. I find the high gloss plasticy and commonplace. The matte goes very well with my Cashmere Beige Nappa leather.

I sure like laurel/gloss more than the matte. But ultimately, I want CF if they offer today. I am sure they will within a year or two.

I would have opted for Piano Black if it were available here in the U.S. The darker Laurel and its gloss finish are closest.

Compliments of SydBenz:

IMO....High Gloss Laurel would be more of a classy look...if that's what you want to accomplish.

To me, the matte finish really looks cheap, especially with the wide expanse of wood. The gloss, on the other hand, really accentuates the dash and the lines down to the center console.

I have the matte finish in my car and I sat in another vehicle with the high gloss (while my car was in for service at the dealership). I would definitely pick the high gloss over matte. The matte seems too dull.

I've got the matte and am happy, does not show fingerprints or smudges, guess I'm in the minority on this one.

I was torn between the two when I ordered my car - eventually went with the matte. It looks "natural" to me, not fake or over processed. My last car had shiny dark wood, so this is also a nice change of pace. Also, my interior is black, and it accents it nicely.

That is what I would have gone with if I had not gotten the designo piano black.
