Of course my speedometer is stuck at 40 and won't come down. That's right, my CLS is doing 40mph in my garage as I type!
Of all the nagging little flaws!
Anyone else?

My ex clk500 needle stuck at 100 Km/hr, a little faster than yours doing 0~60 mph.

The dealer replaced a new speedo cluster for me and fixed the problem,it was a defective meter I think.
W209/W211/W219 share the same meter cluster.

Update

The needle came down to zero the next morning when I started the car. Has it fixed itself? We'll see.

I was hoping it had fixed itself after that first time, but it looks like I'll have to take it in since the problem keeps coming back. I hope the fix will be simple.

Hey guys,

Did you get the dealer to fix the speedometer? I am having the same issue today. Driving fine, all of a sudden, I notice the speedometer is stuck at 30mph..and not moving up or down. I bring the car to the dealer and shift in Park, and the needle is stuck at 30mph. Have an appointment for next week to look at issue.

Both my speedometer and tachometer were faulty. My dealer ended up changing the instrument cluster. Good luck.
