Received my CLS 500 Thursday March 23, 2006!
I ordered my CLS January 1, 2006 (rare color combo) and picked it up from the dealer Thursday March 23, 2006.
Now I know what it's like to "Drive what you love"!
Iridium Silver (exterior) Sunset Red (interior) with Matte Burl Walnut Trim

no doubt thats such a nice car. I've been holding off on ordering one, knowing the 550 due to arrive soon... cant wait!
by the way, anyone know where they make the cls? it took me 9 months to order my 02 clk and wondering why such a quick turn around on the cls

My window sticker says Final Assembly Point: Sindelfingen, Germany..... And Country of Origin: Germany.
I debated about the CLS 550 too, which I heard about nearly two months after placing my order, finally I decided to take the car as a 3 year lease, that way when my lease is over I can transition into the CLS 550 after the kinks have been worked out of the new engine (every new engine has kinks at first). I' ve also heard the CLS will have a new body design in 2009 (a year after the E-Class redesign). Since I love the car I didn't want to wait for all the changes to take place.
BTW 9-months for your CLK special order sounds too long, I've always been quoted 3-months by every Mercedes Dealer.
