Camber Adjustment

Hi guys, after lowering my CLS 500 about 1.5 inches and putting 20" wheels on it, the camber in the rear wheels is off substantially. You can visually see the rear wheels leaning towards the center. I took the car to Mercedes and they said they can't do anything because the car has been lowered. I took it to a tire/alignment store and they printed me off a sheet from their tech book that says the rear camber is not adjustable on the CLS. I have to fix this, the car looks goofy and will inevitably chew away the inside of my rear tires etc... What has everyone else done? Does anyone have any advice/tips? Thanks.

Josh

You Will need to replace the fixed rear links with a ADJUSTABLE links
I have them on My MBs and they work great for lowered cars..NO more camber issues..Longer rear tire life!

Do a search on Speedybenz and HOP They offer them!

They are a Direct replacement..Then back to the Alignment shop

Hi Mark, speedbenz says they take 3 weeks to get you your order and they want $250! Then they say 3 hours of install time. Paying a suspension shop 3 hours for custom work plus the alignment and the cost is going to be about a $500 solution that will take 3 weeks. What's that hop place you mentioned? Anyone make them for less? Does it really take that long to install? Thanks.

I took my E500 to Freeman Frame and Alignment. They're in San Jose. Owner's name is Terry. I've been going there for 11 years. They do custom alignment work. Adjustable links don't need to be purchased.

My specs: camber -0.5 all around. toe: 0

Thanks tbone.. Not too sure if they can resolve this issue with the type of suspension of a cls55? Will contact them soon...

You're running airmatic, correct? If so, that's the same as my E500. But regardless of suspension type, they can align ANY type of suspension. Their shop is a frame and alignment shop. I've been going there for 11 years.
