Xenon headlights vs Projetor headlights
Hi everyone. I have a question and could use some input. My MB dealer called me today and told me they will be receiving a black 2007 cls550 sometime next week. It has the P1 package so it does not include keyless go or xenon headlights. I'm suprised xenon headlights are an option and not standard on mercedes these days, especially if your paying over 70k for the car. I really want to purchase the car, however the headlights are holding me back. What would you guys do?

are you serious?
2ndly, xenon vs projectors..They are separate issues, exclusive of each other.
xenon:halogen as projectors:reflectors
xenons can have projectors or reflectors, just as halogens can.

There is an easy fix for the headlight issue. You can refit the HID on the car is you want the only difference is that it only points forward. You can also convert the fog to HID if you want. Of course it will never be like the original lighting package that comes from the factory.

I consider HID's critical and wouldn't take delivery of any Mercedes that didn't have them. My best friend had an '03 E55 without the HID package and he kicked himself for it eternally even after he fitted an aftermarket set. Nothing is as reliable as the factory setup and people will flash their brights at you every time you hit a bump with an aftermarket kit (serious glare without the autolevelling feature). Regular old headlamps just DO NOT cut it, and never really did.

halogens are no comparison for xenons....in my opinion given the much better illumination of the xenons and hence the benfits they have to active safety they should be standard!!!!!!

2007 CLS 550 and some other MBZ
Just wait for another month or so and tons of CLS550 with P2 options will be on the market. Look at the CLS63 specs. and you will see the 100G car doesn't have Bi-Xenon as standard either.....
