Newbie, Just got CLS500!

Hello everyone! Just pick up my CLS yesterday. I got two quickie for you guys:

1. This car has no HID, if I want to put an aftermarket one, any concerns? Any southern Cali memebers can refer me any reliable shops to put it on?

2. Any of you guys purchase the "extended warranty" from dealer? I am concerning about the problems I have heard regarding airmatic, Navi, engine, transmission... stuff that can easily going north on 1k after warranty expires....

Thank you for your help!

MBUSA Extended Warranty info: http://www.mbusa.com/care/warranty/extended-limited.do

I do not have an extended warranty however, a number of forum members recommend Warranty Direct rather than the MBUSA extended warranty. I understand the WD warranty is refundable on the portion you don’t use and covers more.

If steadfast in wanting a MBUSA extended warranty Courtesy Motors – Chico, CA (Lisa Lehrbaum) 800-655-3535 or 530-893-1300 was offering considerable discounts as compared to other dealerships - not sure if they continue to do so nevertheless worth a phone call.

I got a 2006 pre-owned cls500. By the way, you guys ever heard of Micro-Proxy? This is some kind of sealant that suppose to protect the paint from acid, fine scratches, stuff like that. Kinda like the one posted in the forum. Dealer wants $800.00 for ext & int. Reasonable?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Waste of money.
It won't do anything.

Later on, buy a Zaino kit and detail the car yourself. You will not be disappointed.

That's only a layer or two of Zaino!

Congrats. How much did you pay?

What's the going price of a used CLS500 now that the 550 is out, probably some bargains out there.

Ricky,

Is that hard water that you're spraying your car with? mine only does that with purified water. I have a few coats of liquid glass on my vehicle and it never has repelled water the way yours does.
Seems that you are pretty thorough as even your windshield got the treatment.

Hard water.
I don't have one of those Mr. Clean systems (okay I do, but I ran over it with the X5 on accident).

Nu Finish

Anyone tried Nu Finish? I tried it for the first time yesterday and it seems pretty good. Anyone used it for it long period of time? It claims to be a once a year polish and is not wax.

Ricky, you sold me on the Zaino! Down here in FL everyone needs either the Mr. clean system or a water softener due to hard water which is probably the worst in the US.
