Used CLS55 vs new CLS550?

Obviously if you're here you chose the 550?

What were your reasons? The price is about the same right now!

Reliability? Warranty? Prefer a new car?

Had a CLS500, bought a CLS550. The "trip" from one car to the next cost $8,500 out-of-pocket BUT we got to go back to europe and drive around for three weeks...priceless.
The only disappointment with the 550 is apparently slightly lower gas mileage but it did come with factory Michelins instead of Continentals which I consider a plus.

just test drive a 55 and you'll end up with one

1. absolute crazy power
2. brakes
3. interior
4. growling exhaust
5. amg performance.... priceless

Unless you are aversed to tons of torque fun...the 55 trumps the 550.

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order
Are you guys unhappy with the speed of the 550?
Anyone have a tested 0-60 time?

Is an AMG package available for the 550? How much does it cost and what does it include? I am guessing jus body stuff.

Has anyone installed a sprintbooster on their 550? Any difference?

I am really torn between this same decision (63 vs 550), I just don't think I would use the 63/55 to it's full extent unless I hit the track (which I won't) and end up spending an additional $40K on a car I am not going to use fully.

Then there is that whole living below your means thing I have a thing about.

If I were buying new I'd get the 550 over the 63 for my daily driver.

The 550 is fast enough around town - you can't launch WOT on dry without wheel spin.

But the issue is that 06 CLS55's have depreciated so much in one year that the price is right on top of a new CLS550!

I bought the 550 for the same reason and I am very happy with my purchase AMG Pkg prem 1 brand new for 70k thats right 70k would it be cool to have the 55 or 63 yes but number 1 why would i want a used when I can have new and have no issues number 2 why spend all that extra money on a new 63? How many times can you really use all that power , the 550 has 382! its fast enough trust me better yet drive it for yourself and you make the call
