19" or 20" Rims

I am looking for some rims for my new CLS550 and I am not sure what size to get. My concerns are the following.
-Are 19" to small
-If I go with 19" will I need to lower the car to make it look better
-Are 20" significantly more uncomfortable then 19"
-Do 20" bend easy

Thank you!

20’s for sure. The ride is stiffer with the lower profile tires but the car looks great with 20’s

Heavy 20" wheels are more uncomfortable than 19s but if you purchase quality, lightweight 1pc or 3pc wheels, the ride will smoother than those heavy 20" wheels.

Quality 20" wheels do not bend easily.

Yes, you will need to lower your car if you want to eliminate the fender gaps (19s and 20s).

Has anyone had any positive or negative experience with DCR Catalunya wheels?

Agreed, 20's are perfect. 22's are too big and take over the look of the car. Sometimes bigger is not better, this is a definate case. I wonder what it would lokk like with 22's on the back and 20's on the front. It may be illegal to have different sizes?? Along as the back 20's are wide, you can't beat it.
Good luck.

exactly, just cause it fits doesnt mean it looks good, also if they stick out from the fender to far

I am always amazed at those who sacrifice ride quality for looks, but obviously if larger looks better to u, go for as large as u can squeeze in the wheel wells. Save the original wheels/tires for resale - the oversized/aftermarket look is NOT universally loved

20"s if the roads are good, 19" is the roads are crap, on smooth flat highway/city roads, the ride difference between 19"s and 20"s is minimal because of the air suspension, now, if you plan to add coil overs or other racing mods , then 20"s would get very uncomfortable.

You can go 20 or 19's. I have amg 18 's on my car and I just lowered it and made a huge difference filling the wheel wells. Once I put 20's on it will magnify the look. Look at my post for Renntech Lowering module.
Depending where you live don't stress yourself out for one inch. Don't cheap out with cheap wheels , they will not last. 1 inch more tire profile can save you thousands and a lot of headaches.
Cheap wheels will easily crack and bend and can oblong beond repair .... Good wheels can take a hit alittle better, bend , but the quality of medals in wheel make it a lot more repair friendly. And hold shape better. And a 3 piece wheel you can simply unbolt lip that bent and replace .

You gotta do twenties. I have staggered Asanti 20" two piece rims and the ride is great. It's stiffer and more fun to drive with airmatic all the way up but the 5000 lb beast floats on a bed of feathers with the airmatic off. It's a surprisingly great ride with 20" wheels and performance tires on her.

I got 20's from Radenergie and they totally suck! I never had so many flats in my life. I stopped driving the car till i could get stocks back on. If you live some where with rough roads you might stay away from 20's. BTW if any one wants to by some 20's PM me.
