'07 CLS 550, 09 GL320

2007 CLS 550 Throttle Lag

OK, Got a new CLS550 and noticed that if I am running about 20-30mph and HAMMER the throttle, I get considerable lag as though the car had to wake up and say WOW I gotta go!. (Think count 1000+1, 1000....) Is this normal? I know drive by wire is not immediate, but this is pretty bad.

I'm looking at RennTech ECU upgrade, but they are not claiming big differences.

this is normal.....I had the same complaint. Get a Sprint Booster, it will solve the problem. I've had mine for about 3 months and I love it.

Just do a search on this forum for Sprint Booster.

I also have been looking in to the renntech ECU. but as of right now i dont know anyone with it to say if its any good or not. the extra 20 hp is a nice feeling. also have been looking in to that sprintbooster. i have read good and bad things about it. but most where good. the sprintbooster is good cause it gives the car a great feel, but doesnt add any hp. but if the renntech ecu takes away that lag and gives you hp thats what i would go with. just wish i could find someone who is using it as of now to find out if its worth it.

I just put the Sprint Booster on my CLS55(there are 2 versions AMG and non AMG).It has totally transformed the car.The throttle lag,which for me was the most glaring deficiency in the car,is gone.I highly recommend it.......

I just order the Sprint booster on ebay. The part number I ordered is BDD451A. Is this the right one for a 2007 CLS 550? Can you tell me how to install it or does it come with instructions?
