Ok here's the deal guys,

I am looking at getting into a CLS 550 in the near future and wold appreciate some feedback. This is where I'm coming from

2006 - Range Rover
2003 - CLK 55
2002 - G500
2001 - CLK430 Cab
2000 - CLK 320 coupe

as you can see, i am a bit bipolar in my choice of cars, either sports cars or hardcore SUVs.

Here are my questions;

1- Is there honestly a question with outward visibility on the CLS? A lot of reviews mention it, but I wanna hear from you guys
2- How does the CLS550 differ from the CLS55 of 2006?
3- How does the cls550 differ from my 03 clk55 amg, even though the CLS has more power and 0-60 times are different
4- Any changes for the 08's
5- What kind of discount off MSRP can I get off an 07 vs 08 in Newport Beach?
6- Every car i've had, with the exception of the CLK 430 cab, which designo, and my current RR, which is bonatti grey, has been either black or silver. I am considering white, which I think would look great with the AMG package. Any thoughts?
7- anyone have a pic of an indium grey with the AMG package on it?

Thanks a lot guys,

Sammy

Come on guys, a little more help here
are we expecting a facelift foe the 08's?

with the AMG package, will it be a little more fun to drive ( not as soft and cushy as the non AMG). My 03 CLK55 was very tight, and handled great as opposed to the non AMG version, but obviously that was a full blown AMG car

I drive a 500, but it is a weekend car for me, my ML430 is my daily driver. I notice that when I drive the CLS, I do alot more head checking before I switch lanes, etc, due to the smaller windows, but I really dont think about it. I'm used to being extra careful because i also ride a motorcycle. The car is fun bro, I ordered my 500 in Dec of 2005, and it has all the power that I need. I love what they did with the AMG, but I wanted to build a showcar, so i did not buy that one, instead I've spent close to $40,000 customizing my car in an attempt to build the ultimate machine. Some people like my changes, and some don't, but I'm pleased. My advice to you is to go test drive one, and you will have it in your collection. I don't think that this car will have changes, such as a facelift, anytime soon. If the do it, im sure that it will be minor. Mercedes will usually go 6 to 8 years before major changes.

I feel your pain, the market is flooded with beautiful cars right now, but there is only one CLS.

Make it easy on yourself.

Take a test drive in the mbs and decide for yourself.

meaning that in Newport Beach the venerable Range Rover is about as common as a Honda Civic anywhere else and sees just about as much offroad action... I have one and when the guy at Range Rover tried to get me to go to their "offroad clinic" I just about pee'd myself laughing.
