CLS550 Newbie

Hey All,

I just got my new 08 CLS550!!! Its my first Mercedes Benz, and I love this car!! I was wondering where I can look for parts for the car...When I had my m3 there were tons of bmw parts sites, but i cant seem to find anything for mercedes? I was also wondering, how you guys recommend I should lower the car? I am also looking for painted side markers (the orange peaces on the front bumper)??

TIA

There lots of places to get parts...many of the forum vendors can get the lowering module or you can try to get the dealer to do it via star diag....or lowering links. Someone will chime in about the markers...clear ones on ebay. How much off MSRP did you get?

Just had my car lowered using the links. The ride height is adjustable (1 finger gap for me). Also, the raise and lower feature still works. The guys at Status Auto in Hermosa Beach did it for me, and they did a great job.

So when you press the button to put the car into sport 1 or sport 2, how much lower does the car go? How much higher does it go when you raise it?

TIA

The Sport 1 and 2 buttons do not affect the ride hight, just the stiffnes of the ride. To the left of the Sport 1 and 2 button is a button to raise the car. That is the function that still works. In my current situation, the car will now raise to the original height of the car before I lowered it.

Oh, ok, so once I lower the car, and if I need to go up a steep driveway or over a bump and dont want to scrape, I can raise the car. So sport 1 and 2 are just how stiff it is? Does it affect steering or anything else?

TIA

Based upon my MB Service Adviser, it only affects stiffness of ride. I spoke to him before getting the car lowered at Status.

Nice, sounds good! Can you recommend any sites for aftermarket parts?

TIA
