Just saw a CLS320 4matic CDI today is that possible?
I was crusing around town today and happened to see a CLS320 4matic CDI
I didnt even know that it existed here in the states?
The plates said michigan. Do they have these cars?
He tried flooring it next to me but i laughed at him thinking it was a poser badged car and dusted him about 10 car lengths. (considering i have a modded sclass)

No such car. There is a CLS320 CDI in Europe, but no CLS models comes in 4Matic. Was it a manufacturer plate? If so MB could be testing it for a U.S. market release, but 4Matic uh....no. I doubt the CLS will ever see 4Matic, then again it is an E underneather so it is possible, but I doubt it. Either way no such car in the market now.

they might be testing it out.........i dont think someone would rip off CLS 500 or 550, and slap on a 320 CDI badge...........dont discount the thought of a CLS 4matic just yet. next year cl550 4matic will be released, and I've heard of a CLk 4matic as well. If 2 door coupes are going to get the 4 wheel drive system, chances are this 4 door coupe will too

The Mercedes Headquarters are in Montvale which is about 3 miles from my home, maybe they were doing some testing.
Heres how the badges were set up
it said CLS320 on the left side.... then 4-maticCDI on the right side

I dont know...it could be legit seeing how MB headquarters is near by...but i dont see why they'd have model designation especially when they try to keep these test cars on low profile

Were they manufacturer plates though? Just being from Michigan doesn't really mean anything. I'd say we're not going to see a diesel CLS, much less a diesel+4Matic one. Way too small of a market. The E320 Bluetec needs 4Matic before the any CLS.

If that was the case then there could be something the works, but I doubt it. The CLS just doesn't sell enough to go diesel and 4matic, especially those 2 options together. Such a combo would make far greater sense on an E-Class.

In London the other day, and took pics on my cell phone of a CLS CDI 4Matic in the hotel parking lot. Showed to the dealer here when I got back and said I wanted one. He was amazed it existed. Go to either the Germany or UK website(not sure). You can configure one there. It does exist. They better bring it.

There is no CLS 4Matic. There certainly isn't diesel CLS with 4Matic. Not sure what you guys are seeing, but such a configuration doesn't exist. In Europe the CLS comes in the following trims:
* CLS 280: Euro 55,692.00
* CLS 320 CDI: Euro 59,321.50
* CLS 350 CGI: Euro 61,404.00
* CLS 500: Euro 75,053.30
* CLS 63 AMG: Euro 106,624.00
It appears they have dropped the V8 CLS420 CDI. Someone has fooled you all with a 4Matic badge from the parts department.

It may have been a poser as you say. Can't find the pics in the cell phone to post, but if memory serves, when I showed the photo to the dealer, we looked on the German MB website, and back then (about 1 year ago) they did list a 4Matic option. Went back yesterday and the web site has been updated, quite nicely I must add, but there is no more listing for that option. Oh well.
