07 BMW 750Li or 06-07 CLS

Hello everybody

Im currently considering assuming a lease due to the cheaper prices for the exact same car -- Which car would you go with? An 07 BMW 750Li with an MSRP of around $91K or a CLS with a P1/P2 package, and probably an MSRP of $77-81K? Assuming BMW is refreshing the 7 next year (Albeit a very small refresh that looks almost exactly the same)? I currently have the 08 E350 and the interior of the E350 looks better than the CLS, which is a bit of a downer. Any ideas?

IMHO the 750 is going to look kind of dowdy next to the CLS.....

2007 CLS 550 and some other MBZ
You seriously think the E350 interior looks better than the CLS?! The E has more space for sure but the CLS interior is so much nicer IMO.

The E has a ruffled leather look that is very cushy on the high End E's on the side of the door, the E has a wood cabinet under your right arm versus the CLS which has the leather 07 C-Class cabinet, the CLS definitely does have the wood panel up front versus the slimmer wood panel of the E and the cabinet that goes all the way back, but the problem is the CLS just doesn't look as nice to me -- Mabye its because im looking at it on the internet and not in person, it definitely could be that it has great craftsmanship which I like to buy cars based on and I should go to the dealer and test one

As far as the 7 looking "dowdy" next to the CLS, do you think that the length and the prestige of the 7 do not at least somewhat come close to the CLS exterior? No lie, the CLS is the second best MB exterior I have seen besides the S600, but the BMW holds its own, and definitely beats it as far as options and interior options (IE self-closing doors, ventilated front seats, rear I-Drive display, longer roomier cabin, higher quality leather (At least than the E, I hate my leather in the E it is not soft at all, very coarse like Alligator leather IMHO), reclining back seats, better drive (performance wise) than the CLS) -- Its a tough choice, that exterior of the CLS though is so appealing I may have to buy it based on that

this is the 1st time i am hearing that E class has an better interior than CLS.
CLS has a full leather interior which means the whole dash board top to bottom is leather.the door pannel is top to bottom leather.center console leather.adjustable suspension. all this is not in e class. and by the way having wood on center arm rest is not as costly as having leather and also that when u rest your elbow on there wood is hard and leather is much comfortable.
e class has a soft plastic dash and a small portion on door in leather.

Alright, so im definately considering the two -- However, im pretty sure the BMW has a better interior, especially since its $91K -- Its just that CLS has that amazing outside styling -- Will it change soon? If you were in my shoes, what would you go for? All prices equal.

BMW doesnt have the stitched dash, i personally think the CLS is nicer. HOWEVER. The 7 series is much more comfortable... the comfort seats are out of this world. 7 series has more rattles and doesn't feel as well built. No denying they are both excellent cars. But you are comparing apples and oranges...

Also! New 7 series will be a FULL MODEL CHANGE not a refresh and will be out very soon... months not years man.

Was looking at the 7 series refresh -- The 7 series is a bit cheaper to lease right now and more expensive of a car, but do you think the refresh will be as drastic as the S Refresh in 2007 that made the previous S Class look like it was from the 90s?

interior of the up coming 7 is far more better than the current one.the new one has leather dash and center console.as far as the exterior its about the same but they got rid of the bangle butt this time.

Yes, I don't know how much clearer I can be. The NEW 7 will be ALL NEW not a refresh. The new 2007 S was not a refresh, it was ALL NEW. New chassis, electronics, exterior, interior, etc.

Alright, so I remember when I was a MB novice and I saw the CLS, I thought that was the best most expensive car MB offered. Because I can get it at $4-500/mo less than the S550 (Can get a Z4 aswell for that price ) now only one question remains -- Is there a big difference between an 06, 07, and 08 CLS? Im looking at leases to assume and Im seeing mostly 06/7 with a few 08, just wondering if there was a huge difference like between the 06 and 07 E Class that I should be aware of.

Im looking at the following:

$1300/mo for the 07 S550
$900/mo for the 07 BMW 750Li
$900/mo for the 06/07/08 CLS550 (With the 08s going to around $950)

Thats what makes my decision so hard - The BMW is more car for the money, but its being revamped -- With the money saved from an S Class, thats another $40K car right there.

9-12 months for the S550, then I can refi the lease to bring it down to 840/mo for 39 months
17 months for the 07 BMW 750Li, some are 15-14
24 months for the 08 CLS550, around 17-16 for the 07/06

All payments incl. tax and 0 down -- gotta love leasing.

08 CLS would be a used lease -- Mabye for the 08 it would be better going through a dealer, but Ive seen those specials and they are offering 1039/mo with $4K down I believe.
