Ladies and gentlemen, here, in all its cladded glory, is your first peek at the next-generation 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class. Although the front remains out of site in each of the pictures, the back and sides are all clearly visible, and they reveal... well, they don't reveal a whole lot. Like the current CLS, it's evident the 2011 CLS will retain its E-Class underpinnings, while a larger rear window is also visible. Other than that, however, it's still far too early to tell what lay in store for the next four-door coupe's styling.

As for engine variants, expect the usual V6 and V8 suspects along with a hybrid option, while topping out the range will undoubtedly be a finely tuned AMG variant.

Don't be surprised to see a V6 CLS in the coming years. Also, look out for a 4matic version...maybe next year

Looks like the 011 cls got rear ended by a 535. I think MB could invent the wheel not reinvent it.

Too bad the photographer did not snap the pic 30 secs sooner, we could have seen it up front.

The side angle looks good IMO, I like the bigger windows, but WTF is up with that rear? That giant decklid and completely bizzare taillights look like a big mess. However, so far it looks more promising than the W212 E-Class has shown it may be....

I dunno, I was thinking the same thing, but it looks like it's the real lights with some tape type stuff around the insides?? indeed!

Maybe they just used some whacky lights to throw people off, I really couldn't see M-B using those on a Production model....
