Chrome trim on Cup Holders

Anyone know where I can find replacement chrome trim for the front cup holders, mine are cracked, peeling and look terrible.

Cheers!

Yeah that sharp peeling is dangerous, I accidentally cut my thumb on of the cracked peels. Very annoying. I'm not sure i you can just get the chrome trim though.

I have done the same thing. Took an emery board to mine just to smooth out the edges until I spring for new ones. Or come to think of it, maybe I'll just CPO them the next time I'm at the dealer. They do need to be replaced though. I hear it happens to almost all of them.

At the stealership they run about $70. This was the first thing I replaced.

Having just purchased my 06' CLS500 yesterday, the first thing I noticed, and the only flaws on the car I've seen, are the chrome on the cupholders and the drivers interior door handle coming off. A stop a the dealership and I have a new door handle and cupholder assembly, but for the life of me can't figure out how to get the darn thing out of there.

I have a copy of the worthless service instructions for removal, and it seems a lot of prying is required to get the trim pieces off, but haven't worked up the courage to start prying plastic parts off the console and access the screw holding it in.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hahahahaha. I'm sorry for laughing but the simplicity of it makes it funny. Just push the close button on the cup holder and pull up. It should pop right off. Then just put the other cup holder in and push down. Waalah.

I had my cupholder replaced for free at the dealership because of the chrome peeling.

Thanks for the input on that, but I need/want to replace the whole assembly because the coating on the base of the cup holder has also come off on the drivers side. So, to do that there's a screw under the leather console trim piece directly in front of the holder that must be accessed, which requires the systematic dissassembly of the console parts in front of it.

Supposedly the shifter boot will come out first, followed by the panel around the shifter, then I'm hoping I can reach the screw or figure how the leather piece comes off The factory directions seem straight forward enough, but putting them into action is a different story

Weird. About every CLS I checked out when I was considering buying one, had scuffs/wearing on the drivers door interior arm-rests, peeling chrome cup holder trim, and especially hideous cracking/peeling chrome around the door handle/s. I never noticed the arm rest or chrome handle problem on W211's, even with some mileage on them.

From my experience it is much easier to get trim replaced during the original warranty period. After you enter the CPO time-frame you won't be batting 1.000

I'm on my 3rd set now, what a dissapointment. I have zero deductible CPO warranty so they haven't cost me yet. Interesting comment above on the 09 parts. Are you saying they fit and may be better? Mine is an 06

I actually lost the trim ring on the driver's side and the passenger ring is peeling. Looks like I will be getting two new rings from the dealer.

Mine is toast too, I would rather it be black than chrome.

I got the cup holder fromn Parts.com, $80. Now I need to find out how to replace the whole unit. It looks like you have to remove the front console and armrest. Does anyone have a how-to guide. Mine is off warranty.
