Chrome trim on Cup Holders
I have done the same thing. Took an emery board to mine just to smooth out the edges until I spring for new ones. Or come to think of it, maybe I'll just CPO them the next time I'm at the dealer. They do need to be replaced though. I hear it happens to almost all of them.
I have a copy of the worthless service instructions for removal, and it seems a lot of prying is required to get the trim pieces off, but haven't worked up the courage to start prying plastic parts off the console and access the screw holding it in.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I had my cupholder replaced for free at the dealership because of the chrome peeling.

Supposedly the shifter boot will come out first, followed by the panel around the shifter, then I'm hoping I can reach the screw or figure how the leather piece comes off
The factory directions seem straight forward enough, but putting them into action is a different story
