06 CLS 500-Tire Pressure confusion?

What is the right tire pressure for 06 CLS 500.
Some people say use the manufacturer's tire recommendation which is located on the gas tank lid, other say use the tire manufacturer's pressure recommendation located on the tire itself..which is best for 2006 ClS 500?

yeah I was wondering the same thing. Tire says something like 50 PSI max.

The tire company is not talking to Benz manufacturer thats for sure. Benz recommends 26psi front and 32psi Rear as per the gas lid on 06 CLS 500, which l think is just too low for tires with 50psi max. Tire company recommends 40psi Front and 46psi rear. l just don't know who to follow for safety reason.

Always follow the tire pressure recommendation given by the vehicle manufacturer when running the OE tire. This info is found on the door jamb in most cases (I see that it is written on the gas lid for Adee). Your vehicle was tested and validated for US roadways with that recommended tire pressure.

Never rely on the max tire pressure rating for the tire as an indicator for recommended setting.

If you are running aftermarket tires and different sizes, the recommended pressure does not apply. I usually start with the recommended pressure and adjust depending on the tire wear pattern and ride behavior.

If you're using the stock sized tires, use the pressures under your gas door. The pressures listed on your door jam is for a fully loaded vehicle.

At least that's how my cls55 seems to be labelled.

06 CLS-500 Tire pressure problem

Thanks...but what do you mean by Stock Size Tires?
Currently using Michelin pilot sport A/S Plus 245/40/18 and 275/35/18

l think the car will bearly move of the ground and bounce out of control if l use tire pressure recommendation on my CLS-500 Gas lid ( 27psi front, 28ps1 Rear) or the door panel as suggested by BENZ manufacturer but will try it today and see ewhat happens..

Tried the BENZ manufacturer tire pressure at 28psi front and 32psi Rear, the o6 cls 500 was so unstable driving and bouncy on Michelin tires.
The best ride and pressure: 38psi front and 40psi Rear for comfortable and non-bouncy ride.

Yeah, it will be absolutely dangerous not to follow the tire manufacturer's pressure recommendation. l tried both and found that the 06 CLS 500 is more stable driving when l follow the tire manufacturer's pressure recommendation.

On my 2006 cls 500 with AMG wheels (front 255/35/19 rear 285/30/19) I use 35 psi and 39 psi respectively. But if you don't drive the car faster than 210 km/h you'd better use 32 psi (front) and 35 psi (rear). For the record, MB delivered me the car with 36-40 psi and with that pressure I drove it from Germany to Greece (1.350 km) without any problems and with an average fuel consumption of 11.2 lt/100km!

Am happy with how the CLS-500 drives at 38psi front and 40psi rear.
