"Thwacking" Noise from Suspension - Normal?
I just got my 2007 CLS 550 with 23,000 miles last night. I love the car. I also have a 2008 E350 with the AMG sport package (no air suspension) with 29,000 miles. Driving the CLS, I am noticing a "thumping" (edited for more accurate description than "thwacking") noise coming from the suspension when I hit a decent-size pothole, bump, or rut. It's not terribly loud, but it's certainly not a noise made by my steel-sprung E. The car drives just fine (more isolated and maybe a little less sharp than the E, even in sport mode 2), and I don't really feel much of anything when I hit the decent-size pothole, bump, or rut (less than I feel in the E), but I am not accustomed to the "thumping" noise. Is this normal? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
