called my dealership about this service, they said it is not a service offered there and that they would never do anything to change factory settings for my vehicle. I bought extended warranty, do you recommend lowering at all during the warranty period? I'm so tempted by the look!!!

That's your call about the warranty, but it can be raised up just as easily as it can be lowered with the star. So if you took it into the dealer for a suspension issue I would put it back to stock but other than that I wouldn't worry about it.

Guys remember if it cost you 400 to put links and if you have a problem with the suspension you have to swich it back to bring to the dealer your up to 800. Now at this point your back to stock height and 800 in the hole. Might as well do it the right way the first time. Just my 2 cents.
One think I don't understand. I have a 08 Cls 550. What does the 3 suspension setting (comfort,sport1 and sport2) do and do they effect my ride height ?
Also I use the the button to raise car in my driveway daily , would the star and module still Alow this option? If so does it raise to fully extended height ? Or does it raise to a new lower height level when pushing the raise butt on.
Thanks

First went I went with star..didn't lower enough..yes you can still use you sport settings. Then in went with links.. pain in the *** to install rear link if you do it your self. I didn't like that I couldnt adjust on the fly..I just installed the renntech v2 elm..love it! Can adjust with remote when ever I want. I can easily turn the module off to return to stock so the wife can drive..( rarely happens).
Save your self the time and effort and just go with the module. You can get them for less than a grand and is easy to install. Paid 800 for mine.

Hello everyone; i am new to this forum and a new 2009 CLS550 Owner; I recently purchased a Diamond White/Tan Interior w/AMG Package and really am enjoying the car so far; I am interested in lowering the car and have not found too many posts regarding Lomo M1 for the CLS550s within this forum; I live in the SF Bay Area and would like to pull the trigger and get the Lomo M1 but want to make sure it is a great way for lowering my car; any feedback on this Lowering Module would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I also purchased a CLS550 back in January...I would like to lower it via STAR. I've PM'd a couple people here on the board and they either don't do it anymore or dont live in the area.
I live in Socal and would like to do it ASAP ...looking for someone experienced. Can someone guide me in the right direction?

"It was lowered as much as the star would allow. There is a range that each side on the front and the rear has to be within on the star settings. So we got it as low as we could."
keith954, your settings look very nice. it is a great stance and looks just right for my purposes.
does anyone recall the exact settings they had used? i would be really curious to know the max settings as the shop i plan to use does not have experience changing the lowering settings. from other threads, it appears that the settings revert to stock if you go out of range, so knowing the upper (err lower) bounds would be very valuable and save me a lot of trial and error.
thx,

Lomo M1 arrived with the harness' for ease of installation; shop installed the module this afternoon and..... Lomo was a no go...shop owner said harness was faulty, will get another harness and try again...stay tuned.

Another Lomo M1 and harness arrived at the shop for a second attempt to successfully install this module on my 2009 cls550; still will not lower my car. Has anyone else encountered this problem? The shop just refunded my money, looking to get a different lowering module altogether.

Its been a while since I been on the forum. I had my car lowered with Links since the post and so far, I had 0 issues. Its been about 1 1/2 years with over 35k+ miles of driving in LA streets (really ****ty streets with many bumps and pot holes). So far I don't regret it at all. As for, raising the car back to stock, I can probably do it my self or Ghost Motor Sports will do it for $90 assuming I have to take the car back to dealer for servicing. I kept the OEM links just incase.
Just thought I'll post an update!!!

I am in the atlanta area and I called Buckhead Imports today who are very highly recommended on thsi forum and in online reviews.
they gave me a price of $100-150 for using STAR or $150 for links (parts and labor). he however recommended going with the links because its easier to do and easier to go back to stock than compared to STAR. i am not sure i completely follow how doing labor of removing links and adding new ones is easier than lowering it with STAR using a computer program?
Any one else have any thoughts on this? also any more thoughts on which of these 2 methods is better? I see one post saying STAR is better than links. ELM is not an option for me as I dont want to spend that much money on getting this done.

Maybe I spoke too soon. About a month ago, my Airmatic went out. According to the dealer, the pump and module went out. They said sometime,??? sticks. I am not sure what they were talking about. Luckily, I have extended warranty so I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty. Before I took the car to the dealer, I put stock Links back on and adjusted the rear Links to original area. It took me about 30 mins. Putting the stock Links in the front was very easy but adjusting the rear Links to original area was little more challenging. Over all, it wasn't to hard. I am not sure what caused the problem. I don't think it was the Links. I did some research via internet and it seems like Automatics do have a problem sticking which causes pump and module to go out. I am glad I lowered the car with Links. If I had ELM installed, I would not have known how to restore back to stock and if I would have taken my car to the dealer with ELM, I am pretty sure dealer would have given me a hard time about getting my Automatics fixed via warranty. I am gonna try to lower my car via STAR this time if I can find someone that will do them in So Cal. Maybe Jeezck3 can do them if he would ever replies to my PM. If worst come to worse, I will lower the car back via Links
Just thought I'll share.
