In fact, in the U.S it's simply the only standard option, where they don't give you any others. I like it when the AMG Package costs a premium though, makes it more exclusive and interesting, while the way MBUSA does it will have all CLS's looking exactly the same as each other.
I agree this is much more exclusive. My dealer told me only around 20 new CLS is out on the streets so far. I have only encounter a red non-amg one so far. I am sure the new CLS with AMG would be a rare sight in HK.

But to be honest, I would rather it to be free even though every new CLS will have it. You know, my every dollar is hard-earned.

I bought Diamond white because it is the only white avaliable for CLS. Most of the white E coupe I saw is not Diamond white and I think they look fine. 90% of the average people think cannot see the difference between the standard white and Diamond white. If the regular white is available on the CLS, I would have taken that.

Never said I was better, just different. To the OP, have you driven a 550 since you took delivery of yours? Just would like to hear your thought on the difference in the engines if you have. With the A7 here in the US I could see MB bringing the new V6 out to play in the CLS here in the US.
