2010 CLS 550 Which Deal Looks Better?

Hey Gang.........I'm a newbie and getting close to being a CLS 550 owner. I'm looking hard at these two vehicles, and trying to decide which is the better value (or deal).

2010 ClS 550 74K miles at $33,499:
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=1&Log=0

Or this one

2010 CLS 550 32K miles at $40,900
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=3&Log=0

I would be very curious to here or see what the group thinks.

one more:

2011 CLS 550 with Sports AMG, Premium PII 31K miles $42,391
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=4&Log=0

I'm really excited about "getting in the game". Have wifes permission, the whole 9 yards. lol Please respond back with your thoughts on which is the "best deal". As a new owner, I promise I'll return the favor with any new things I learn about the car and service.

Many thanks!

Do you wrench on cars...even very basic maintenance?
Will you get an extended warranty?
How many miles will you drive it a year?

Hey Viper, now won't DIY on the maintenance. There's a good non-dealer shop down the road. I may purchase more warranty. It will be my "baby' car, so I'll probably drive no more than about 10K miles a year.

I think you are going to regret not buying one with sport package. So I'd say go for the 2011. I been in the market for one myself and finally found one last Saturday and waiting for it to be shipped. 2008 CLS550 white/tan Sport. Every option possible. 40k miles.

Call on price differences in extended warranties. They are obviously based on age and mileage. Definitely get a sport package. Try to get a one owner and be careful of food cars, self repairs not showing up on carfax, damage to lower front bumper which can cost 3k on an AMG package, leaking airbags. Pay the $250 to dealer for inspection. Amazing what can be seen when it is on a hoist.

Definitely do a PPI on any car you choose to go with. I found a great deal on 08 CLS550 3 weeks ago and after I took it in for PPI the SA told me to run from that car. And guess what, the car needed a new toque converter, steering pump, and the wheels were all bent, etc.

Thanks Viper and Tasho. I was thinking the one with the Sports AMG as well, which comes standard in the 2011 year model. Comparing the asking price versus the TMV, it looks like the 2011 is also the best value.....TMV $47,710 versus ask price $42,390. I'll definitely get it inspected. Tasho congrats on your 2008!

Have you considered a CLS63? Much more fun, rare, and power! I just lowered the price on mine.

Best deal right here with a warranty Black on Black

No matter what car you buy you need a car with warranty and car that hasn't been threw the auction. Previous History is the most important thing.
As everyone else said "Go with the Sport" better resale. Looks much better in my opinion too.

How about this ---> https://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-...5-perfect.html

Typo dealer, ment to say auction.

Hey Gang.......thanks to everyone for their help. I went ahead with this beautiful car, 2010 CLS 550 Premium P1 Plus. It's not the sports package one, I just fell in love with looks with this one......the black exterior with the cashmere interior. The way it was loaded, it just seemed like the best deal for me, even though it does not have the sports package. I still like the rear pipes actually a little better than what you get with the sports package (just my taste). I like the "flared out" pipes. Seems like when I was shopping, it was hard to find the black / Cashmere combo with the wood grained steering wheel and gear shift knob. I'll now shop later for the bigger 19" AMG wheels. I got this car with only 32,00 miles, one previous owner, clear car fax for $39,900. I've been babying it for almost a month, it has not disappointed me. Thanks again so much for your help gang. I'll be sure to share anything I learn about the car I as I become more familiar with it. Just simply enjoying it for now! My other vehicle is a 2005 Chrysler 300 Hemi C, 343 HP, I thought it was relatively fast until I got this car. I simply cannot imagine how scary fast the 63 is.
