Mityvac use for an Oil Change

I was wondering if I can use a mityvac for an oil change on my parents '06 CLS500. I purchased one for my Range Rover Sport and would like to get more use out of it plus help my parents out.

If I can use it do I need anything other than Oil and a Filter? Crush washers, gaskets, o rings? Or does that all come with the filter.

Lastly do you guys prefer the Mahle filters or the Mann?

I have been using Mityvac for 9 or 10 years, this is definitely the right way to do oil changes.
O rings comes with the filter ( here is the Amazon link
Amazon.com: Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Oil Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Oil Filter: Automotive
or sometimes you can find it few dollars cheaper on EBAY.
PS When i change oil i also change air filters (

)

Thanks for the quick reply and all the links I really appreciate it.

Any special instructions or tricks for this car or is it simply. Remove filter, remove dipstick, insert tube in dipstick, remove oil, replace dipstick, fill oil and replace filter?

Thanks again.

Last set of questions I promise:

You said remove more oil after removal of the filter is this done with the mityvac (as in stick tube down and suck more out) or with a turkey baster (as in just the small bit of oil that pulls around the filter housing).

You have remove filter after the oil, on my RRS I loosen or remove filter first to make oil extraction easier is that not the case with the MB?

Finally for oil, http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-0W...Quart/23636902 I am thinking two of those will do and I can just save the leftover for next time. Or is there a preferred oil/weight on this board. Car is in Los Angeles if it makes a difference.

Thanks again, this is a great board.

You can ask as many questions as you need ))
I usually loosen filter housing in the beginning to make oil extraction easier and when almost done i remove filter housing with the filter while i am still extracting the oil . Then i use shop towels to clean inside the filter housing . I am pretty sure you can remove filter in the beginning but it will have alot of oil in it .
Mobil1 0W-40 is recommended although alot of people use different brands. I personally buy oil in walmart , i doubt you can find same price anywhere else 5 qts for $25 . On my CLS i use Mobil1 10-W40 High Mileage due to the mileage ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-Hi...l-5qt/17034354 )

Thanks for answers and the permission to ask more questions.

Through reading more I now learned there is no Dipstick? What do I do now with 2 5qt jugs of oil with an unknown need for oil (as I will be unsure how much oil is left after the pumping)?

Do I simply under-fill slightly and check via the computer/dash and keep adding slowly? Don't want this favor to turn around and bite me...

You will see how much oil you extracted , should be around 8 qt . Mobil1 jugs usually have measuring lines on the side ( trying to find a picture ) where you can see how many qts left. I usually use 8 qt although you supposed to use 8.5

No need for picture, thanks again, essentially fill up with what I took out (I believe there is a gauge on the mityvac) and then check the computer to double check I wasn't low before/after.

Thanks
