Display error codes and loss of functions
Ive got a 2006 CLS500 with 230k and recently started getting all sorts of errors poppping up on the dash. the car starts and drives fine, but lose functionality of a number of things, here's a list of things that pop up:
Active Headlights currently unavailble
ESP malfunction
Cruise control unavailable please visit worksgop
SRS malfunction
Battery light, please visit workshop
I lose control of steering controls, lose my turn signals, lose my wipers/wiper wash, lose cruise control, the cabin lights will flicker, air conditionin/fan flcikers on/off, radio/Nav flickers on/off, my parking sensors turn red and beep and flicker on/off.
Like i said the car starts and drives fine, just a number of random things pop here and there. Sometimes all of this goes away and everythings fne, but then randomly comes back.
Any ideas?

First step would be to check battery voltage.

12v
11 V, shutoff stage 1 is triggered -canceled at an estimated voltage of > 11.5 V
10.7 V, shutoff stage 2 is triggered, canceled at an estimated voltage of > 11.3 V
10.5 V triggers activation of the auxiliary battery stabilizing system for a short time

So tested the aux battery and it was toast, so changed it but i'm still getting all the same errors.
Any ideas? Is there something else that needs to be done after the battery is changed?

Try re-activating steering angle sensor – turn steering wheel from one lock position to the other then center it.

And btw i already had the steering angle sensor replaced once, any idea of how it can go again? And this time around i have ALL sorts of errors going off, which is very differnt than the types of errors i was getting before.
I was afraid of this, but looks like to the stealership I go

Could be, already changed the aux battery and its still happening. It's in the hands of the stealership now...... 3hrs in and they're stumped, they can't figure it out. They re-programmed a bunch of things, updated software and stil nothing.
They believe it's a short somewhere, so they now have to "take apart" the car as they said to find it
