Supercharger Oil CLS55 E55 S55 SL55 SLK55 CLK55
Hey guys,
For all those wondering about supercharger oils and what not. I'm not an expert, nor do I claim to be, but ask me to learn about something, and I'll do my best. It seems a few people have asked about the differences of supercharger oils and what to use or not use. I have seen various threads about people using Mobil Jet Oil II. I've done extensive searching and came up with a few things:
1. The guys who have used Jet Oil II were mostly threads from 2007-2008 after racking up a few miles on their 55K cars; reasonably so.
Since those days, now almost 10 years later, Mobil 1 has come out with a few variants of Jet Engine Oil in the same line of products:
Mobil Jet Oil II ----- Mobil Jet Oil 254 ----- Mobil Jet Oil 387
According to their website, please do check it out, the 254 is a "new and improved" Jet oil II better thermal stability and better oxidation properties (a lack of oxidation basically).
Now, it comes with some drawbacks, it doesnt last as long (ie. changing it more often etc.).
They then came out with the 387 product. It apparently is the "next best thing" it has better lubricating properties than both Jet Oil 2 and Jet Oil 254, its longer lasting and also has the perk's of the 254... Basically, its the best of both oils and then some.
I am going to see if I can source out a few cans of this stuff and give it a try.
Here is the link on Mobil Jet Oils:

its from their website, has a chart and all.
Enjoy!
Pete.
