Wear signs in engine oil analysis
I’m stressing a bit, I have a M273 W219 CLS 550.
I’ve had a engine oil analysis done and aluminium and iron particles wear higher than the average on record by Blackstone Oil. Rougly 3/3.5 times more than they are usually seeing.
Also they found the viscosity to low to that of their average sample batch. About 10/12% too low.
Could it be that too thin an oil was used combined with too long an interval of the oil?
I have zero mechanical issues too report or feel, no low oil pressure signs, car runs impeccable. Feels quite healthy in every regards.
Also recently did a major service with spark plugs and the looked very much like they ran 83k miles as the use life of the car
When I changed the oil I didn’t see any visible metallic particles in either the oil change bucket or in the filter. Extracted close if not all of the 8.5/9 liters of oil that car takes so definitely wasn’t low on oil. The oil was black though.
I have belt and oil cooler housing jobs planned in november and will be changing the oil again than. And will run another test by than.
Does anybody have valuable insight to this?
How concerned should I be?
Any advise to abait or improve this?
I changed it with 5W40 liqui moly leichtlauf with the MB325.0 approval code from Mercedes. Gonna change it in about two months time again

By than i will have driven not more than 2000 miles in total since the oil change. The reason im waiting those few hundred miles is that i need to open up some things like the oil cooler and filter housing anyway.
i’m not made of money by doing this job twice in 2 months seems excessive. Wouldn’t you agree?

But I appreciate your suggestions and thinking along with me. Thanks.
Bore scoring is not frequently reported with the M273 but lack of oil changes (using the wrong oil) could have seriously shortened its life.
