Nice car! know it is in Eurpoe, but do you know if the high gloss wood finish you got is the same as the U.S. "High Gloss Laurel"? Just curious - what is it called there? I like it! Is it a dark brown?

Thanks!

Hello,

EDIT: Itīs high glossy Laurel wood...

I drove a W211 E500 before and after my test-drive with the CLS I took mine "straight" from the dealers-showroom. The design is ingeniously and the CLS drives great. I love it and I also love the V6 engine. I thought it could be lazy and not strong enough, but now I say, itīs the better one than the V8. The V8 is "old", I wouldnīt buy the V8 now, better wait for the new V8...

I wondered, because I heard the CLS will not be delivered in the US before 2006.

PS: @ factoid
I saw, you were expecting a WHITE CLS. This is a great color for the car. I saw some pics of a white one, this white is not available in Germany I think. Would be cool to see some pics of yours if you received it.
My next CLS could be "indium"-grey with the red interior...

What's the headroom like in the back.
And front for that matter. Does it work as a four door?
The cars looks great!

Too bad they're not offering that engine in the CLS here. BMW isn't offering their new 3L 6-cylinder in the 6-series here, either.

No 6-cyl. for the US-market... ouch...

1. Yes, itīs a 3,5 V6 with 272 hp and 7-gear-autotransmission.

2. The headroom is okay in front/back. Except if you are 2 meters high I think...
It works as a 4-door, but itīs not a family-car. I transport our daughter (almost 3) in the back, and itīs enough space for her.

MB and BMW maybe think, the US donīt need V6 engines, but I think especially these engines were great for the US. Nobody needs the V8, because it isnīt up-to-date. The upcoming V8 will be the better one and maybe there will be more distance between it and the V6...

In Europe, the CLS will come with diesel engines...

*lol*

This is my fear, too. I hope, the CLS isnīt getting as "usal" like the E.

But, on the other hand, the V6 is a great engine for this car. Btw, itīs available for the E-Class, too. At least in Europe...

I have a very important question for us people here in the U.S. who ordered the AMG Sport Package. The wood trim package (wood steering wheel and shifter) is not available with the AMG package because of the "Shifter" buttons on the steering wheel. Can you check if they make the high gloss laurel steering wheel for the sport package in Europe (with the shifter buttons on the back of the steering wheel) - may need to order it from there - I have to have a wood steering wheel
