Everyone will laugh at me for this one but I have been on the road a lot this past month - yes month!!! Today is the 1-month anniversary of the release of the CLS - Jan 17-Feb 17. And get this - aside of the 5 or so I have seen briefly in dealer showrooms, I have not seen one on the road. NOT ONE!!! NOT A SINGLE CLS!!! For an E-Class owner this is huge news since i see more E's than Camry's here in L.A. Now granted I work a lot so I'm not driving around looking all day long or anything, but to go an entire month without seeing one on the road - I AM SO THRILLED!!! Anyways, just had to share - in this entire past month I have seen tons of a SL's, quite a few CL's and more S's than my E-Class. I know very few CLS's have hit the docks yet, but so far I love how limited they are - knowing MB it will probably change in the next 6 months, but it's cool while it lasts - just wish mine was here now and that I didn't have to wait until late March/Early April.

cheers! im going on a month of ownership, and im glad to say the same, seen none on the streets of chicago or even up in the burbs!! (knocking hard on matte wood)

i still get chased down multiple times a day with people asking Qs and complimenting the hell out of the CLS!

I have seen 2 in the Chicago area, one in the city and one on the interstate I believe. I wasn't real impressed. I want to see the new GS on the road, anyone seen one of those yet?

i work for a MB dealer in AZ and i've only seen one on the road. We have 20 sitting here for an LPGA tournament, so they'll be around

I saw one at the Circuit City by Millenia. I drove the test model at MB of South Orlando. Ordered one just after that.

i knew by posting in this thread, id be jinxing myself. so of course on the way home from work yesterday, i saw one on the street in chicago, at least it didnt have sport package :p

it was a very dark color, black i believe. im not sure if it was the lighting because the sun was down, but the dark color on the CLS really hides some of the defining lines of the car IMO.

Sorry man - probably did jinx it - still haven't seen any myself here in Marina del Rey - guess I need to cruise up to Sunset this weekend as per the previous post - but Sunset always has the cool rides, so that makes total sense.

Adam - So funny you said that about the darker colors - that was one of my main reasons to sticking with good old (some would call it boring) silver - that and the fact I'm too busy to wash my car every other day here by the ocean. Black looked hot at the Brabus booth at the LA Auto Show back in Jan, but i felt it hid the lines and styling of the car a bit- especially with the Sport package. Total taste and pref though - black is always hot so congrats to anyone who has one no matter what color it is.

Had a friend spot one in the Marina del Rey last night where I live at the Vons shopping center - silver sport - but I still haven't seen one except in the showrrom so it doesn't count yet.

one of the advantages to the Mid-west is less luxury car competition. it appears i'm the first in Ohio to take delivery on a white CLS and while i know two launch editions, one black, one sliver, and one pewter have been sold in Cincinnati where i live - haven't seen any of them. wonder how long my exclusivity on white will hold?

There's a new one in the pkg garage where I park in Tysons Corner... also have seen one in Bethesda.

I think they look so much better in person... very nice lines. My only criticism is how mb finished off the back wrap-around tail lights - something about them seems out of place - otherwise, a great looking car... very GT-esque.

came away from seeing "Hitch" at the movies with my wife and a guy in an older S500 was looking mine over in the parking lot (way at the back of the lot - man, the distance i'm willing to walk to avoid dings) - i showed him the car and he started joking a little about buying it off me - after a little bit, it turns out he was more than half-way serious - sent him to my dealer. nice compliment.

I take it you got one of the first ones? Must have been shipped with the demo. I decided to wait to test drive before ordering, yet now I seem to count the days. Did they add on any markup? My sales guy seemed like he is trying to do me a favor by selling it to me at MSRP. He also said 45 - 60 days for delivery. Anyone enlighten if this is true?

My last 2 days count....going to Chicago and back for school.
I have seen one CL....besides mine, 2 SL...2 Bentley GT's....1 Aston Martin Vanquish (MJ's car, yes that MJ), and 6...yes 6 CLS. Now everyone has them lol.

LOL...I'm at a month and a half now - still haven't seen one in L.A. It's funny to, because out here in Marina del Rey everyone always has the newest cars first - guy who lives next to me had the first E55 in LA I think when they came out. Need to cruise out to Hollywood and look for one I guess.

Ive seen maybe 2 on Division and the rest were heading north on the Interstate right out of Chicago, possibly coming from MB of Chicago.

Hey John u need to visit us in the OC, there are already 2 in my neighborhood and you're guaranteed to see one valeted at South Coast or cruising Laguna Beach/PCH.

Hopefully in mid-april mine will be the only bordeaux, or i can move next to you :p

Have yet to see one on the street here other than a few test drives at the nearby dealer before they sold the demos. Unusual when you consider even the "High-end" cars are a dime a dozen around here.
