I love the interior on these but that’s about it.
I don’t like the bench seat in the back, the tail lights look like they were taken from the BMW 6 series GC, the AMG53 has less power than the current CLS550, I don’t like the move to an inline 6 either (I know it makes sense but I don’t have to like it! Lol)

Pricing?
It's so surprising to me that ten months after this car was announced, five months after production started, and after it's on sale in multiple countries around the globe, there is still no US pricing. I have a CLS 53 AMG on order for production this month, and yet, nobody from MBUSA can even tell me when they expect to release pricing. Unfortunately, my dealer is likewise in the dark.
Comically, when i contacted MBUSA about their timing, they sent me a lengthy email explaining the "role of dealerships" in establishing the final price of a car. Thanks for that tremendous insight (sarcasm intended). Kind of hard to get to a final price when the manufacturer won't establish a baseline MSRP.
Does anyone out there have any info?
thanks much in advance.

Normally I'm sympathetic to MBUSA and I think people here complain too much, but not this time. MBUSA is failing at this point. The site is still showing models for the 2018 MY which you can't even get anymore. Why aren't the 2019s up for build yet? It's borderline retarded in October! Every single 2019 car should be up with full pricing and build capabilities. Just plain stupid at this point.

what are you looking for the price to be at on the 53? You must have some kind of an idea considering you ordered one? What options did you go with? Or did you order an Edition 1?

that's a fair question - I'm hoping it will come in around 80k for base MSRP. The e43 AMG lists at roughly 72k.
My dealer is being really flexible. He allowed me to spec out one of his allocations on the understanding that we would do our best to reach an agreeable price once they get the numbers to plug in. If we can't agree, he can sell the vehicle to someone else.
I ordered obsidian black with black nappa (silver stitching) gloss wood accents (Brown Ash)
20" five spoke wheels
Driver Assist
Parking Assist
Heated and cooled seats
Heated Steering wheel
soft close doors
wanted to do the HUD, but it delayed availability by a couple of months, and my lease 2015 bmw 650ix is up in December.
seems so odd to me that MBUSA holds their cards so close. I can only delay my purchase so long. At some point soon, I may have to punt on the CLS and settle for another car.

I think a '18 body with a '19 interior would look great......oh yeah, with MORE HP though.

Great choices. I think I’m going to have to try to work out a similar deal with my dealer here soon. I really wanted to see/drive one before I actuality pulled the trigger on this one but that seems to be taking too long.
Great option choices. I think you will be very happy with that car for sure. When did they say it would likely be arriving? Are you going to lease again?

these are the same numbers i saw on build sheets at the dealership last week. it's weird that the document above has a date of November 2017 - not sure about that. In any event, my dealer is sticking with the price at $79900 as MSRP on the AMG. Maybe they just think everyone is going to expect a lower price point based on the 2 cylinder reduction - go figure.
