Lack of interest? CLS53
Just curious what everyone's thoughts are? The previous CLS platform seemed to be way more popular - is it that this platform is still so new? Lack of vehicle at dealers? Even this forum section is dead.
Have been considering one, but curious if there is any specific reason to avoid?

375K CLS were sold in the 15 year history of this car. It's only normal to have more postings on the forums for the older models. This car has only been on the market since Nov. and has very little population on the street. It will take a couple of years before the CLS forum has enough owners participating to make it more interesting.

Great car. I hope to see mine by May. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. The cars started to arrive at US dealers in December 2018 from what I’ve heard, so yes, this platform is very new.

The E class has a lot of activity and that is the place for info on your car. Both cars are on the same platform and are basically the same car, just a different shell. It will keep you current with any problems or whatever people are discussing on the forum that may apply to the CLS.

Keep in mind a few things, the sales are now spread across more models: the introduction of the A class may impact C class, the introduction of GLC may effect E Wagons, etc... intro of the S class coupes or GTsedan's may effect CLS. Just throwing out examples.
I will say this, not sure about USA, but in Canada the CLS53 to me appears overpriced, especially when you compare to a similar competing model like the BMW m550i, loaded similarly the CLS53 is $10k more!... then you still have to explain to friends its an inline 6 engine!

MB’s
The previous CLS is also a used or CPO car now vs the brand new CLS that cost much more. Always the older MB forums that are more active. More people own them.
