Wow. Ok. That's valuable information. Thank You.
I heard it could be my gas filler cap possibly being loose.
This car has so many electronics in it you just never know.

I recall reading that the 2014 S class has over 100 sensors.....and that was 4 years ago! Imagine how many they have now!

OK back to the check engine light thread. I spoke to my service advisor this afternoon. The foreman in the service department he’s trying to figure out what is going on with the vehicle. He contacted Mercedes and Mercedes is sending a rep down tomorrow to the dealership service department. They did find a store code saying that there is an issue with the electrical wiring for the turbo charger compressor. The Mercedes representative gave them a heads up and said that both front seats and carpeting may have to be pulled up to look at the wiring under the floorboard. Oh my God. I said nothing gets authorized until you speak to me.

Agreed.
I don't like to bring my car to the dealer. I don't like lot boys driving my car, parking it wherever, overtesting it, getting in and out of it.
If it's an emergency or routine maintenance I'm bringing it.
These dealers today are such high volume that your beautiful car is just a number.

Mr. Yellow CEL is back as of yesterday afternoon.
Service advisor said bring it in so the tech can at least pull a fault code from it. I agreed. Stay tuned.

Had my first yearly service performed a week ago. I think I was the only one at the dealership, and the service (basically an oil change) took 4 hours. Driving the car the next day I got a service message telling me my oil was overfilled! Never had that one before. I like my dealer (so far) but I can empathize with your feelings about keeping it away from there!

9500km ... CEL hit, car started to run on definitely lower amount of cylinders. Lucky for me it happened 8km from my Mercedes dealer so with 40-50km/h (impossible to hit more) I drove to them...
One ignition coil went to other world. Well in my previous F10 BMW 535xd 2015-2019 I was replacing 3xO2 sensor, so **** happens...

My light just came on as well. But the car drove fine. 23k miles on mine. Dealer can’t get it in until Monday. Hopefully it’s just something simple. Seems like with these cars it’s always a software update. My driver seat stopped working and nobody could fix it…butttt a software update did the trick lol. Has your car been fine since you brought it back for another software update?
