Hyperion - The last of the visual mods are still on the way...HRE P40SC, KW lowering kit and a CF spoiler from Agency Power/Vivid....again, thank you Vic for hooking me up with those guys over there.
.

And yea...I took the resonator home with me and its an easy swap to put it back on.
Just cut the straight pipes at the weld and slap the res back in. Done.

No doubt no ands no ifs no buts...

Freefall, or someone else with no res, is there any way you could snap a video like that but from inside the car?
Is there any increase in noise in normal day to day "comfort mode" driving?
I'm sold on the sound outside the car, but I'm worried about increased noise in the cabin. I haven't seen a good video from the inside at all. Mostly worried about increased noise or drone at highway cruising speeds ~2k.
My ONLY regret is that I never did this to my previous AMG.
Here's a pic form today...it was a blast and I got to prove my car against some serious machines. I would say I represented us just fine...

I was on his *ss around that on ramp and she was holding on just fine. IMO Italy did't do well well today...

I also saw you and a little SLK almost kiss pretty good on the way home...
.But to stay on topic here, how did my car sound from the outside?
O'yea...Saeed my friend...
...you are fearless...
....Like I was 15 years ago...

I think the only increased sound in the cabin is a little more intake whistle sound at idle and under low speed driving (e.g. in a parking garage) but you can really only hear that with the windows down. It is more than made up by the loud crack the exhaust makes on a WOT 1-2 shift now.
This mod is not for people who find the current exhaust sound loud enough. I think it is about twice as loud as before at WOT -- which I love but is not for everyone.
The shop says to install an X-pipe as it will give a better balanced sound not as raspy as straight pipes. The cost for an x-pipe install is $400-600 as there is cost of x-pipe as well as some additional labor. Also, I want to be able to replace the resonator so i want the work to be done accordingly. I'm not sure if the shop is interested in the additional cost or if they really believe the x-pipe is better. They were pretty convincing.
I am not so concerened about cost difference as I want to do the right thing. Seems that those who have installed the straight pipes are happy!
My question....is the x-pipe the way to go to get a better sound? Anybody have the x-pipe and can tell me their opinion on which sounds better? I realize this is subjective, but who better to ask.
