the tech man is still working:
1st problem of 4 leds in the bottom row not working: solved

but the SAM is making crazy things ... turns the turning light on when you press the Stop pedal ..

this is because, thanks to the SAM function itself, when our system perceive a difference in voltage/resistance, it considers that as a bulb or wire failure and therefore uses any other available bulb to perform the same function.
then gives a failure message on the cluster ..

this is the way it has been explained to me
I'll try to post some pics of the work in progress ..
I 'm sure everything will be solved

oscillating power signal

the power signal coming out of SAM is not a steady 12V
... it's an oscillating signal

after determining voltage management, type and kind of resistors, relais ..

decided to install big radial heat dissipators to avoid resistors from burning even after a north to south trip ..

here they are.. and must be fixed to the metal body of the car to dissipate at best

LEFT side

RIGHT side

NEW vs OLD

check and compare ...

CITY + REAR lights

CITY + STOP

tomorrow will finish to see what happens when both new are installed
.. we tried but had some problem maybe caused by some bad ground and because I think the tech's head is no more dissipating heat

they are different cars !

last summer, after having bought these lights and realised they didn't work, at the dealership we asked for a technical advice, firstly at the main MB tech center in Italy and then, if I remember correctly, at MB Hannover asking for sam swap or something else.
I still keep in mind that teutonic answer: "..will not work, they are different cars! "

.. now I understand what that meant
THEY REALLY LOOK DIFFERENT CARS !!

.. in the dark is even more astonishing .. maybe those guys in a new CL63 that I saw confabulating from the rear mirror after I passed them today ... were thinking the same
the rear look recall me the SL to some extent

it's very cold .. but I can't stand going down in my garage, looking some more at it

a bottle of Champagne is ready prepared for my Tech

... already thinking at next mod: chrome illuminated sills: p/n B6 6021062

thanks Guys

.. the pain was not small
considering that I ordered those lights before they officially released them and, maybe due to un unproper coding at the time, I received ... a couple of my old lights ...so now I have 4 old lights..

but now I'm enjoying revenge

HI, thanks,
I made a search and found some convenient option but unfortunately can't find CHROME, exactly like these (not the reverse writing as usually are replicas)

would it be too much to ask to have a full write up (step by step) for the conversion.
thanks

thanks
unfortunately it s not me the technician ... or fortunately

what's up to me for example was to chose whether have the fog light working only to the left , as usual, or to the right as it is for RHD countries
.. I chose to have both, should I decide for a trip to UK

but he will be willing to make it also for you, no prob

I asked about this ...
if more there'll be more than one person, you can get them done and delivered, more or less at a cost as if they were 3 pieces tail lights instead of 2.

seems great.
but, in case, will have to ask my shipping company for confirmation.

first thing, let's check what's your SAM #
and of these new Led lights being sold in US, + their p-list.

.. my business is usually of a buyer

ps: anybody there in the business of electronic components ?
... Champ was not enough .. should find another present for my Man

I already told him ...I have plan to change front turn lights to Led, too
then, I want to change that yellowish light in the headliner that reminds me an old kitchen .. and plate number lights
.. and Strobo install
