Need help deciding for 2010 Panamera Turbo versus 2013 CLS63

Here's my dilemna:
2010 Panamera Turbo with 20 inch wheel. No sports chrono.MSRP was 153K
I am close to a deal for 98K (trading the C63 for 38)
http://www.naplesmotorsports.com/veh...oor+sedan.html
2013 CLS63 with options is $120K and dealer is giving me 7% off so that means about 112K.
I test drove the Panamera and the power is astonishing for a car that heavy. It handles unbelievable for its mass. The exhaust tone is subdued but for about 2K, I can add a Tubi or similar exhaust that should remedy that problem.
I could not test drive a CLS63 but I sat in one and started the car.
I feel the interior of the Panamera to be superior to the CLS.
Difference is about 14K and I think in a few years, I will lose less on the Panamera as it has taken the blunt of the depreciation already.
On paper, the P car is faster than the Benz.
I know that a tune will make wonders with the new CLS but I could do that as well on the P car.
Look is subjective so no need to point out that the Panamera is ugly to some.
I am more looking for people who have owned either car to give me some feedback.
I live in Florida so roads are pretty straight.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Sorry, I have not owned a Panamera so I cannot give you comparisons.

But based on the info given, I would go for the Panamera IMO.

By the way, what's up with the rusted wheel bolts?! Are they supposed to be like that or bad picture?

I have only driven the Panny never owned a turbo.... its a great feel especially from a launch but the AWD will rob power up top and it slows down... its a 3 year old car vs a brand new car that is basically just as fast from a roll if not faster (def slower from a dig).

I also think you are paying too much for a 2010 softamera... yes they are super soft and i know dealers offering 25k if not more off new 2012's on the lot.

Here are the latest auction sales and obviously some cars have a much longer addendum than others but most of those adds dont bring much to the table after 3 years:

08/23/12 RIVRSIDE Lease $91,500 17,451 Above BLACK 8G A Yes
08/23/12 RIVRSIDE Lease $90,000 18,529 Avg BLACK 8G A Yes
08/23/12 RIVRSIDE Regular $77,000 46,384 Avg GREY 8G A Yes
09/27/12 PA Regular $78,500 34,969 Avg RED 8GT P Yes
10/04/12 ATLANTA Regular $95,000 10,239 Above Red NON A Yes
10/17/12 PALM BCH Regular $88,000 22,394 Avg BLACK 8G A Yes
10/18/12 RIVRSIDE Regular $87,000 7,375 Avg PURPLE 8G A Yes
10/18/12 PA Regular $84,000 32,941 Avg BLUE 8GT P Yes

That is a good point. I wonder what is up with that and if I end up buying, I will get it to the P dealer to take a look at it and ask them for new bolts.

Vic: thanks for the update.
Regarding the price, the car is like brand new inside and out, one owner, 13K miles, new P zeros all around.
I have been looking hard online and I could probably squeeze them a little but not much.
I found one in SC asking $100K with similar MSRP (153K) and one in TX for $97K but MSRP was $144K. Just trying to get my trade done thru the phone and getting the car shipped here will eat up any savings. The local car also has a built 9500ci .
My offer is $95K and I hope there is a little wiggle room. Thanks for looking up the auction prices. That will help.

I owned a used 2010 PTT for short period of time. The interior and "feel" is no contest, ptt hands down. It does feel it cost a lot more. The power, scared me on redline, same goes to cls63.

The ride is a lot smoother and softer with cls63 (test drove friend's car), but if the road is silky smooth in Florida, PTT won't be a problem. I find PTT to jarring even in comfort mode for my local road (Indonesia). I like the ride on the 3.6L Panamera a lot more

Couple annoying things with MY2010 PTT, rear windows chrome garnish/list came of by itself, make sure you are covered with warranty. Other thing is, not sure specific to MY2010 (first model year), there is low speed grinding/slipping noise when turning. Most people (over p-forums) said it is due to its nature for being awd but I don't buy it. Plenty of other awd including cayenne that doesn't do that.

Why not panamera gts? Sounds amazing from YouTube.

Just make sure the one with low MSRP has the Sport Chrono package, performance suffers without it.

The CLS63 would be new and ordered with matte grey paint and dvp package.
The P car does not have sports chrono but talking with the dealer, they feel that after a GIAC tune, it does not matter anyway.
I drove the P car again and it feels really big much bigger than the CLS.

Thanks for feedback, I made my decision not to get the Panamera and look for a good deal on a CLS. Local dealer wants MSRP

Have owned neither, but just a question- what are the tuning options like for the PTT... Is it as rediculous as the CLSTT? because If they dont match up, Id go for the one that will murder the other. Tuned...

Also, the interior DOES look great in the PTT, but for me personally, Id go for the exerior looks over interior... Its like buying a Vette. Ugly on the inside, marvelous on the ouside. IMO

Find a 2012 sitting on a lot---- dealers will be motivated to move. Depending on the dealership new car sales that it has; their profit can range from 6% in the front to 6 to 8% in the back totalling around 14% off sticker. They might want to get rid of the 2012. The 2013's didnt get a ton of new stuff.

I would opt for the 2013 CLS63 and add the maintenance package. This way you'll have a brand new car and you won't have to come out of pocket for regular scheduled maintenance of any kind for 4 years! They're both great, but there's nothing quite like a brand new AMG that noone has driven before.

The dealer does not seem to be hungry to get rid of his used CLS63...
Sticker was 115K, the car has 4K miles and he wants $105K for a one year old vehicle...

Alot more than a clock:

Providing the Panamera models with a sportier setup is the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus (available only in conjunction with Porsche Communication Management – PCM). For the Panamera Turbo, there is the optional Sport Chrono Package Turbo (standard on the Panamera Turbo S).

Included in the package are a digital and analogue stopwatch, the SPORT PLUS button, and a performance display in the PCM for displaying lap times.

When the SPORT PLUS button on the centre console is selected, the engine management system adapts the engine for a sharper response. The rev limiter is adjusted to a harder setting with the V6 and V8 petrol engines (not on the Panamera Diesel and Panamera S Hybrid).

Vehicles with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) switch to SPORT PLUS mode for harder damping and more direct steering. Panamera models with adaptive air suspension lower the chassis to Low Level and switch to a stiffer spring rate.

In ‘SPORT PLUS’ mode, the trigger threshold for PSM is raised for increased longitudinal and lateral dynamics. Agility is enhanced when braking for corners with PSM enabling greater manoeuvrability under braking and exit acceleration, especially at low speeds.

For maximum dexterity, PSM can be set to standby while the car is still in ‘SPORT PLUS’ mode. For safety, it is set to intervene automatically only when ABS assistance is required on both of the front wheels.

The stopwatch mounted on the dashboard displays recorded driving time in hours, minutes and seconds. Seconds, tenths and hundredths of a second appear on a display screen. Alternatively, the stopwatch can be used as a conventional clock. Porsche Communication Management (PCM) has a special performance display to view, store and evaluate lap times or other driving times. It shows the total driving time, lap distance, lap number and lap times recorded so far. You can view the current fastest lap and the remaining range until empty. It is also useful away from the racetrack. Evaluate your daily mileage or define benchmark times – and rediscover your old routes.

When combined with PDK, the Sport Chrono Package Plus has two additional functions.

The shift times in ‘SPORT PLUS’ mode are shorter, the gear changes sportier. In automatic mode and at low rates of deceleration – even with high engine speeds – the system initiates a swifter brake induced downshift. In manual mode, gear changes are faster, more dynamic and more direct.

The second function is Launch Control which is designed to produce optimum acceleration from a standing start. This function is operated via the SPORT PLUS button with the ‘D’ or ‘M’ drive position selected. With the left foot depressing the brake pedal, the driver fully depresses the accelerator for maximum throttle. The engine is revved to an optimum speed of around 5,500 rpm and the clutch is held in slight contact.

The message ‘Launch Control’ appears in the PDK display of the sports steering wheel, the multifunction steering wheel or the optional SportDesign steering wheel. Now, the driver simply releases the brake pedal, and prepares for maximum acceleration.
