Fresh Supply at Dealerships?
My dealership hasn't had a GT in inventory since the first editions. Now there are three! Do you think MB decided to produce more?
I'm tempted to look at one today. The MSRP seem fair. If I make an offer, how much off should I expect? These are 2016 models ranging from $145-160.

Buckhead dealer offered 7 off, but car had ceramic brakes and I didn't need.

i have not found any that are going below MSRP, mine wasn't discounted...had her shipped in from CO....so far, they seem to be holding that value..

I was offered 2% off without negotiating from my local dealer here in the Chicago area. Already pre-traded my M6 and now we are just waiting for an allocation for the build. With time, I can probably get another 1-2% but I really want to have the car by spring.

I essentially sold my car to the dealer before buying a new one. The dealer gives you a document saying that you have a trade-in credit at this dealership. When your new car comes in, they deduct that amount, add local taxes to the remaining balance like a normal sale except your trade-in happened months ago and you avoided the depreciation during that time.

also how long till delivery it makes no sense for the dealer to promise a certain amount unless it was a lowball figure that already took into consideration depreciation

Yes I have not heard of this either. Car values in the used market go up and down like the stock market. An ACV today (actual cash value) has great implications tomorrow. This month is BMW and Benzes #1 sales month; values will come down as they move the metal off the ground at discounted prices. This will inturn affect the used values or trade in's. Then in March the used values will come back up.

It's not well located but you only need to use it when switching between park, forward and reverse. For all else you can use paddles.

If you are set on a 2 seat sports car, and concerned about comfort then you should look at the Jaguar F-Type R. It is more comfortable because it has a slightly higher seating position which makes it easier to get in and out of. I know for instance that my brother would choose the Jag over the Benz any day because of the ride height.
You will give up performance in the Jag, but I still think it's better than the RS7 if what you really want is a sports car.

Not sure how one came to the conclusion that the dealer is not in possession of my car in this pre-trade agreement. Just to make things clear, the dealer does have my M6, which I was having stored for the winter. 700HP with Michelin PSS tires is not exactly the car to be driving in freezing temperatures, that's what my GL550 and E63S are for. Since the GTS will be delivered in spring, I was not going to be driving the M6 anymore so it made sense to trade it in early, plus the dealer gave me a pretty good price for it. This way, there is no risk of further devaluation to a stored car that was not going to be driven essentially until when the new car is being delivered.

I just had to arrange the seat slightly in height from my preference because of the mirrors creating an annoying blindspot at the Dutch and German crossings and roundabouts.
