Exclamation Known Lemons

I'm inviting any of the owners who have complained about getting the rare lemon to post the car's information here so that future buyers can be on the lookout.

Totally optional, you can post the last four digits of the VIN, the entire number, or any other identifying information that you think would be helpful.

It sucks to have had this experience, and hopefully you can help/future owners avoid similar issues! Thank you in advance.

Mine was never legally classified as a "lemon".I simply traded it in, it was not a lemon law buyback or anything like that so I am not going to add my info to this list as I don't know the legalities or consequences of doing so.

Not sure you will get anyone to do this but nonetheless a worthy attempt.
It appears that one of those cars was recently bought and the new owner introduced himself on the private lounge.

I suppose it's all how you phrase it – personally I would think it would be safe to post something along the lines of: I had issues with this car (and had to trade it in), here's the last four of the VIN in case you might have a model in the same range that you want to have checked out first.

I'm not an expert, but if Carfax can report manufacture buybacks or service issues, no reason anyone else can't!

It probably depends on how you represent the car at the sale.

If you say no known problems and then post up problems w vin, Could be trouble?

According to those ****ers at Mercedes my car runs fine

Don't want a lemon? Buy a 2017 Porsche 911 targa.

I'm not selling my car. I'm going to drive it within normal operating conditions (115 degrees in Arizona) we can see how well engineered it is. I'm getting a fire extinguisher to keep in the trunk so that the car doesn't get totaled when the engine inevitably fails.

Weird noises, pops, rattles, creaks = blast loud music

Burning smell = spray some cologne

GEEZ! That's how I drive all the time. Especially in the Viper.

You've got the burning small too? Mine never had that but there are a couple guys here and one guy on PL that have smelled a burning smell since day 1.

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish by posting a negative comment every time you want to say something... Simply not productive.
Have you seen Jr's comment about the oil leak and the fact that it could not easily be detected. That could be where your oil is being lost.

Just trying to help you make lemonade

Mentioned the oil burning problem to an owner who isn't on this group. He speculated the issue might be more related to driving style – he tracks his car often and was thinking that if you baby the car then the rings never settle (or something to that effect). I'm not very technical, so can't say for sure one way or the other.
