that is the reason why I went with a GT. For $6K more, I was able to get all the GT-S goodies I wanted.
A simple tune will give you the power to be a 10 second car and a 911TTS equivalent in the quarter . Not bad for $125K
Hello guys, haven't been in this Forum for years. (probably 10 year ago when I had my S class)
I just ordered the 2018 AMG GTC, while I was thinking about to get the Audi R8, (stunning V10) but also waiting for the R8 Convertible next year, and Benz announced the GTC! ^_^ Since Audi is not going to do the convertible with the "Plus" version, and where I live is ~4,000 ft above sea level, Turbo engine might be better choice!
But while I was at the dealer, signing the order, and spotted this:
This is stunning! I never thought of Red AMG GT will be that sexy! I hvn't owned any Red car since my M roadster 10 year ago!
Now I am so tempted to buy this coupe, and trade for the GTC next year, (or just keep it!) question is, this is the GT, not the GTS, so my question is, any one has tried the GT and GTS, can you notice the 50hp difference? Do MB just "de-tuned" the GT? the GT engine and GTS engine, really difference? I am also thinking, if get the "GT", have it tuned, will the "tuned" final power, similar to a "tuned" GTS?

Thank you.
Red On the red carpet... dragons tongue....
GT and GTS have same powertrain. It's the same car. AMG does detune but I doubt you would notice much in stock form. GT has mechanical differential which could make it a more old-school loose in rear. Any of these cars tuned are 600hp 580 to which would be a nice bump up from GTR rating.
I am with you, I love to have the "extra wide" body for the GTC/GTR, give it more a 911 Turbo look, the new grill looks weird, but with the "night package" will probably look cool!
Ideally to get the GTR, but the dealers told me they sold out for 2018 already ..
