Im picking up a new GT-S and was contemplating installing the ED-1 side skirts, lower front spoiler and flics. My question is: does anybody know how they attach? Are they drilled in with pins/clips or do they simply double stick tape on? Just trying to determine if its worth the hassle or not. If anybody knows, id appreciate it.
I am going thru that process right now. the center front piece and sides get attached with rivets and the rest is double sided tape.
Unless your dealer is willing to match the price, buy them from this MB dealer online as they have the best pricing: http://www.mboemparts.com/
LMAOROF dealer quoted me $1,600 to install them. It should take my shop less than 2 hours.

Great information!!! Thanks for your help. Rivets huh... so they have to drill into factory piece. Do you know if the stock pieces you received actually come with all the necessary hardware (ie: rivets and fasteners) or do they need to be supplied/ordered separately? Not trying to be weird about some small pieces like this, but I've ordered much less (seemingly) significant pieces and had it turn into a NIGHTMARE to install. (For instance, Brabus Black DRL for my G63 required that they REMOVE THE DASH to install the wiring!!!! )
Based on the schematics that I got from dealer, it only requires a few rivets for each piece. If u order the pieces the dealer should be able to tell u how many u need. Since mb installs them like that on car, I am not really worried about it. When I order the parts next week I can share how many are required and how the install process went when I receive them.
Got all the parts including sides. Install was easy: double sided tape already on part, just peel and stick. Then a couple rivets to hold eveything together.
Thanks.
Rivets in front are to attach the little vertical black lip under the new front center piece.
Rivets were also used to attach the side pieces.
The side aero pieces came with holes pre-drilled for the rivets.
Rivets created holes into the under body of the car and into the front aero piece to hold that little lip.

Looks great on that Magno paint!!! IMO that is what the US market Edition 1 should have looked like from the factory. I liked Selenite but the matte Magno just works really well on the GT-S
I'm thinking of also adding all the aero ed-1 parts except the rear wing. Is it possible to order the package without the rear wing (just need the front and side bits)?
I checked out http://www.mboemparts.com/ for pricing and availability but it does not show anywhere in their site. Hope someone can give me part numbers to make it easier for me to order as I'm based in the Philippines. Thanks!
The car either comes with the package i.e. with the rear fixed wing or without. If you just want the front and side pieces like I did, you have to order the parts separate. pm me your email and I will send you the part numbers. mboem had the parts in stock and they shipped the same day but you will have to call them to tell them that you really want the parts because their system will kick back that your car does not fit...
Just another question on the ED1 aero parts: Will the new front center piece replace the existing one or will this be placed on top/over it? I have the carbon fiber center piece now and not sure if I will have fitting issues.
Lastly, how many rivets should I order? Are they all the same or have separate part numbers on them?
The new front piece will replace the current piece you have on. According to my installer, that's the only PIA thing in this process. It takes a bit of patience and finesse to remove the existing piece without breaking any tabs.
I don;t know about the rivets but the parts department should be able to tell you.
Got my ED1 parts installed. The hardest part of the installation was getting the front lower mesh grill off to replace the ED1 lip. All of the parts come with double sided tape already attached so the installation was simple. For added support, rivets and screws were used. Here are some photos of the install:
Bumper has to come off to attach the center lip
The double sided mounting tape is very strong, but i also use mounting screws and rivets for support:
Side skirts are taped at the top and mounted with screws underneath:
Reinforces my thoughts that original front grill is best. I think it would be cool if you black out front horizontal part of grill so the star is alone in front.
