AMG GT S Fuel Consumption
Hi All,
i have a 2015 AMG GT S, bought it pre owned about six months ago and wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience to me.
i seem to be finding that even if everything is left in comfort mode, i still only get 9 MPG. on a full tank of premium unleaded i get 140 miles. i do drive mostly in the city but even so the stated figures were around 18-20 MPG for city driving. was wondering if there could be a leak of some sort? i wasn't expecting it to be any good on fuel but i feel this may be a little too bad?
Also worth noting, in my spec sheet it says there is an 80 litre fuel tank in the car, however when i fill it up from empty it is only 65 litres when full.
Thank you in advance!
Regards

It's not leaking, and you will never get 18-20mpg. Any mode beyond C mode tells the ECU to adds a ton of timing and fuel.

It displays in the "trip" screen; miles to go. The tank BTW is a smidge over 17 gals.
Refer to owner's e-manual in the onboard computer for complete details of available data and settings.

If you are saying that the computer readout shows 9MPG since you have owned it, you have filled up a few times and you only get 140 miles on average, and you do not drive it like you stole it, then I think you have a problem.
I only had my car for less than a month and I am doing my best to follow the breaking period. I filled up 3 times and I am around 280 miles with no more bar on the read out. My computer shows 17 mpg and that's mostly semi urban driving.

I have averaged about 20.1 mpg over the past year with a stock Edition 1, driving daily over 18k miles, about 60% highway, 40% stop & go city. The highway driving is spirited in S mode for the most part around 80-85mph. City driving is conservative in Confort mode.
