New AMG GTS snagging issues

Just picked up my car on the weekend and noticed a few snagging issues, perhaps anyone can let me know if they experienced this and the fix?

1. When I lock my car and walk away the alarm goes off after 10 seconds or so. Everything is closed and correct so have no idea why it does it? It has happened maybe 3 times over 4 days.

2. Had a strange one this morning when trying to reverse the car. Stuck it in reverse, revved the car and nothing happens, the rev counter didnt go up but the car was trying to make some noise. Handbrake and everything was off. Stuck it back in P and then back in reverse and seems to be fine now....

3. My car has only done 9000 miles and the front end has only a few stone chips as expected but the windscreen has quite a few noticeable large chips and in close clusters. Are merc screens very soft? My Porsche and Audi had done double the miles and were unmarked in comparison!

Never with issues one and two. A few stone chips both on the paint and on the windshield. I don't have enough information to compare to other brands.

Same here, no issues with 1 and 2. Are you the original owner of the car? I have had no issues with Merc glass over the years (9 AMG's).

Could it have formerly been an ADA car? Mine was, and while the body is near perfect, seems like my windshield is sandblasted pretty well, relative to the mileage - in my case 3300 mile. Don't really notice it driving, but when i'm washing and detailing, I sure do.

Regarding issue number 2, was your door by chance open when you tried to reverse or even in shifted into reverse gear before your door was closed? If your door was open, even slightly and placed into reverse gear an electronic parking brake gets applied.

Everything was closed ok. had to stick it in park and reverse and then started moving. Booked it into Merc to see if they can replicated that and the alarm issue, hopefully something minor!

Don't worry, I'm sure your not the only one!

On a side note with the cold Uk weather my coolant top up light came on so was about to top up but noticedit two coolant tanks on the car. I assume the black one is the one to top up as per the manual but what is the second clear tank to the left of it for?

This seems to happen on all my Benz's in the late fall when temps drop, just topped off my GLA45 this morning and had to add to my wife's GLE last week. In each case there were each only like a half cup(or less) low, needed very little to get the warning to go away. Make sure you don't overfill and let the car idle 5 minutes and warm up before adding additional coolant.

Ya, it's a pain in the butt feature. I have used my wife's GLE to tow a small trailer with mine and my kids ATV's on it and it becomes a hassle because I'm jumping in and out backing up and I'll leave the door open because I know I'll be jumping back out in a second and it just locks up and goes into park on me. On a side note the rear back up camera with hitch camera is an amazing feature, you hit a button on the dash and the rear camera changes it's angle and shoots straight down to the hitch, no more guessing or needing someone else back there to tell you left, right, stop so at least they did that right and that minimizes the amount of time I end up having to open the door to hop out.

Thanks for the advice guys. Merc did some software updates for the transmission and seems to be fine now in reverse. The alarm issue hasn't happened as much but has happened 3 times in the last 3 weeks so they will have a look.

One strange thing I have noticed is on full lock their is a juddering type noise from the front end, is this normal?

Same deal for me at least for full lock left at very low speed.
