My GTR is at port in Brunswick Ga
I am more than ready to get my hands on this beast. I am trading in my 2015 Porsche GT3 for the MB GTR and am really interested to compare. I do lots of track days and have raced professionally as well of being involved with IMSA for a long time. Therefore my GTR will see some real track time.
Has MB really turned out a true Porsche fighter? Not long now to find out.
I am going to Road Atlanta on 5/23 for the ADA Pro and would love to meet and chat and even hope that you have your beast then.

In a GT3 Porsche I would go for the standard brakes with updated pads, easy choice.
However, in an AMG GTR I am bit afraid the standard brakes are not up to the hardcore track task and perhaps safer to go for the Ceramics even though the running cost will be huge?
Any idea of the replacement rotor cost btw, anyone?

I've chosen ceramics and will be doing roughly 10 track days a year in the GTR, quite honestly it was a guess, I've no experience whatsoever of AMG ceramics and it seems hard to find anyone who has.
I can always downgrade to steels for a relatively low cost if they're not up to the job.

On the AMG GTR I did opt for the CCBs as I did not have enough understanding of the steel setup and what would be available for it for upgrades.
Unless you are a hard core track rat which seems you are if you cooked stock steel rotors on your GT3.

The few track people I know went away from CCB due to the overall cost of it and the nature of them when driving the car on the streets (potential squeaking and time to get them heated up).
They say it is cheaper to replace steel brakes more often and you will not get any more money when you trade the car in so it's an actual waste of 10K.
I don't believe in buying the GTS when you can buy a tune with a GT that gets you more power and I am still debating on taking my car to the track as it will take some abuse. I opted out of the CCB.
There is a company that is offering aftermarket CCBs (there was a recent post about it) but I will venture to say the aftermarket for Porsche is much larger

Lastly I have never had an issue with them being cold and that really reducing my stopping power on the street. Remember they heat up very very quickly.
