Engine cut out at 4000 rpm

I have noticed that under full acceleration from a standing start that the engine appears to be electronically cut off at 4000 RPMs with a bucking like sensation in sport plus in race mode only. If I were to aggressively accelerate the car without punching it , no problems. I was wondering if anyone has the same problem.

Had the same issue recently. Its like it just lost power, I attributed it to traction control kicking in.

SLS AMG
Is the car warmed up properly? The SLS will go into limp mode to keep it idiot proof if it's cold.

Yes was very warm. Will likely ask dealer. Any further input would be appreciated .
I'll shut of traction control and try it.

Best guess, sounds like the ecu hit the torque limits. Happens in tuned cars where the limits are not reset given the rpm that you mentioned.

This... I had the same problem "after" my tune and my car would go into limp mode. The thresholds needed to bumped up.

Dealer f/u

I spoke to the dealer and he Asked if the traction light would go on during this problem, which it did. I even shut off the traction control completely and it still did the same problem. It is my understanding even though I shut it off it always runs in the background to some degree. I am still awaiting a follow up answer to this issue from dealer .
as I mentioned it happens in sport plus and race mode. I have yet to try the race launch program and remain curious if it will happen with that as well.
