I would call them and they will hold a spot considering your situation. You will get your car in the next couple weeks. It was that gas guzzler tax that was the last ridiculous hold up

I saw that too in the EPA regs. The value in the MB system is $1000 as of yesterday. My M6 had a combined MPG of 16 and the gas guzzler was around $1300 if I recall correctly.
MB may be eating some of this cost if the $1000 proves accurate.

Only $1,000?
With a combined MPG of 17, the chart I'm looking at shows a tax of $3,000. See page 2: https://nepis.epa.gov/Exe/ZyPDF.cgi/...y=P100F3YZ.PDF

Yeah, the EPA regulations state the dealer/manufacturer is responsible for the tax. Which I didn't know. So maybe they split the tax up and eat part of it, which is awesome actually.

The manufacturer pays it up front (never the dealer) but I'm not sure how some values are adjusted. It could possibly be a weighted average of city/highway driving but thats just a guess without my usage of Google ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Ultimately we, the end users, pay for it thru the MSRP of the car.
