Unexpected acceleration
i notice that when i am on highway at fast speeds and acclerate it , it goes but when I let go of accelerator the is a surprise momentary gush of acceleration .
Feels uneasy and ? Dangerous ?
Btw pedal is not stuck , nor are mats in the way.

2003 CL 600
The electronic throttles take a second to close, I've noticed what you are talking about even on my old CL600. Seems to be a part of MB programming, there's a slight but noticeable delay between when you lift your foot and the throttle closes.
I don't think it's a defect, nor is there anything you can do about it.

I am a tech at MB. It's just the way the systems are unfortunately. You notice it more on the turbo cars as they really come off power hard as the boost goes away, and it takes a second compared to how quickly you can snap the pedal up.

Greatly appreciated. A little scary on track at 140 mph on long straight just before a sharp turn when you let up on gas and ready to brake .
Tomorrow I'm going to see how I can manage now that I'm cognizant of it .

cl600 is a nice ride.
I have a 03 cl500 and cl55 , fortunately less than 50k miles on each. But you are lucky to be a MB tech cause as I'm sure you know they are great cars but anything mechanical is $$$$$$ sadly.

Couldn’t agree more with you. Very dangerous and unacceptable. My past four cars have never done this. 911 TURBO S-E63S-CLS63-Ml63 PP.

Also agree, It shouldn't accelerate when you let off the pedal. A tiny lag before it lets off the current setting yes but in increase in acceleration is a fault.
