I’ve just repainted the front spoiler and lower front of my 2016 GTS because of paint chips. Anyone have experience or perspective on benefits / advisability of paint treatments, bra, or wrap to minimize any chips in the future. Thanks

There are many of us here who protect vast quantities of the car when brand new to,prevent paint chips. Find the best Xpel Ultimate and/or Suntek Ultra installer nearby and look at options.

check with your painter and find out what the cure time is for the paint he used. It is spec-ed in the paint info sheets. For my ppg it is 24 hours. For other paints it is 72, or other times. For factory paints it is cured in a oven. When the cure time is reached have it wrapped with clear bra. Ask your dealer who the best shop is in your area and go get it wrapped before you do much driving.

I'll second thebishman. Love my suntek bra. It's a must and I would suggest the door sills and the bottom rear bumper by the wheels. I potentially advise the hood as well as I recently got a chip on mine.

I do not buy extended warranties. I do not buy wheel coverage. But I do wrap my cars in XPEL Ultimate. So far, so good. I did have a rock chip bust up the film on a headlight. Who knows what it would have done with the protection. Not to mention that I let the car just get crazy dirty because who cares? I can wash it without worrying about swirl marks when I feel like it, even if it is caked in dirt.

11k miles on the GTS. No rock chips. (Now the radiator is starting to show some wear, so I know stuff is hitting the front....)

I personally would strongly encourage it, especially since it sounds like you just went through the process of which many face from not having it on, Chips and repainting.

My Best advice I can give having Suntek on my own GTS:
A) Having it is great, an extra bit of piece of mind while driving, remember it is not tank armor, but it will help significantly with the little annoying stuff.
B) Go with whoever the best installer is in your area, all films are slightly different to work with, so don’t force them to use something, find the best installer and go with what they use.
C) don’t be cheap, you’ll be starting at ancrappy install and a butchered up car if you do, I’ve seen too many horror stories out there.
D) Suntek vs XPEL, again, installer is priority, but if comporable skills, decide on film brand. Suntek people believe it has better clarity and less “orange peel” look than Xpel. Let your eye be the judge. For me, a great installer near me uses only Suntek, and it looked great on other white cars he showed me....sold.
