GTR
GTR manual shifting
Noticed under manual mode that there are up arrows telling me to shift up however this happens very early in my opinion at around 4-5k rpm even though redline is much higher than that. On the GT3 this doesn't happen till I'm at 8-9k rpm .

Is it OK to push the engine past 4-5krpm on the GTR even though the arrow is there?

Not familiar with that ...
this is under race mode or any other mode with Manuel bottom on

What's the usual rpm at before that indication comes on for the GTR?

Its just a suggestion for economy! Why pay any attention to it.

I don't believe it shows in race mode?

I usually start in Comfort mode which automatically upshifts until engine is warmed up than drive exclusively in Race mode and have not noticed this indicator. Maybe I'm not paying attention haha.

Are you sure the indicator you are seeing is telling you to shift? Or could it be telling you what gear is "on-tap"?

When I have the engine setting to "race mode" I see an up/down arrow with a number next to it and I'm pretty sure it is telling me the gear that it predicts will be next and so is ready to shift to.

Agreed. It's completely unnecessary on this car. (I have it on the vanilla GT; it's ridiculous on the entry level model, too.)

So this indicator is there so I can save a few bucks in race mode? Lol if I wanted to do that I would just leave it in comfort mode or drive around all day in 6th .

totally worthless imo
