Torn

just got approved for a black on black gt , sticker is 130k , payment 1429

also available: 140k gts , matte grey color, 2000 per month but a large incentive bringing the effective payment down to 1350

i prefer the black but I know I’m getting a better bang for my buck with the gts

my question: how much am I really sacrificing by picking up the gt instead of the gts. It’s $80 more per month for a 10k cheaper car but it’s the color I want

let me know what you think

Color for me would mean more than badging. At 130 k GT is a loaded car like mine and I have zero regrets.

Slightly smaller front brakes, no AMG logo on center console and no electric differential and HP down slightly are differences with a loaded GT.

New beats used. My friend got a used high end car with 3600 miles. When he checked the service record( negligent on his part) he discover the gear box had to be replaced after 2500 miles.

This can can happen with a new car but you have more recourse with the Dealer versus Subletting a Lease.

Both are used, the gts has about 13 months left and the gt about 24

prefer the lower 13 but 24 not a problem

People with GT will say GT is better
People with GTS will say GTS is better

Is there an opportunity for you to visit a dealer or something and test drive both cars?

i am goimg to drive the gt today and I guess I could pop into a dealer to find a used 16 gts somewhere to drive as well, I just feel weird taking up someone’s time for a test drive knowing that i have no real interest in buying their car

I have driven both, albeit in just test drives, so my perspective may be limited. I could not tell much of a difference beyond what has already been communicated.

In my opinion, perhaps you should go with what you want to look at every day. If you prefer black, go with black. While I was waiting for my Magnetite Black Metallic/ Auburn Brown GT to arrive, a White/Red Pepper GTS popped on the market. I could have easily switched to the GTS, but I knew that I preferred the GT combination better.

you’re right. That’s what my gut is telling me. It’s just, the extra performance, albeit probably not noticeable in daily driving is hard to resist for 60$ less per month

I remember in a previous post, you mentioned you are getting out of an m3... I am assuming an f80, my last few cars were a comp pack m3 f 80, a Nissan GT-R black edition and an e92 m3...my amg gt blows them all away seat of the pants feeling, rawness and sound... I have never driven the gts but I have been a passenger in one... the cheapie gt is not really a base model, it is more the best deal for same engine and arguably better suspension... the only notable difference for me is the lack of race mode. Hope this helps, if you love black on black gt go for it!

coming from an i8 at the moment which has been fun but I do miss the rawness of my M. It seems like a lot of you didn’t notice too much difference so I decided on the black. Thanks everyone

I agree. I had an i8 for 3 years. The first two were fun. Then it became a bore. It was like driving a refrigerator.
