Which SIZE Winter wheels and tires do I need?

I was looking at Zito ZF02 as a wheel for my GTS. Should I run a square 19” for all the
wheels? Will the 19” clear the rear calipers?

What size do do I get ? 10”? 9” what offset is right?

i assume the tires depend on wheel width? 265? 295?

thanks

I just put on Zito ZF03 for my winter setup and while I could have gone smaller/narrower, I simply matched the same size as the OEM wheels, 19/9, 20/11. So far, so good.

I don’t know the exact OEM sizing of the GT S wheels, but it should be pretty easy to find on the forum. I can however highly recommend Signature fully forged wheels for a very high quality; super strong; light weight and low price for a fully custom wheel. I am super happy I bought a set as track wheels.

The Pirelli Sottozero is an excellent ‘high performance’ winter tyre; one that I’ve used on multiple cars in the past. It has performed great for me in up to 4”-6” of snow/ice.

The offset was ET45 I believe.

I got Pirelli Sottozero II tires, 265/35R19 XL 98W (front), 295/30R20 XL 101W (rear).

The folks at Zito and AR Motorwerkz were very familiar with AMG GT wheel fitment. There were no issues. Here are my Zito ZF03s with Pirelli Sottozeros.

One more thing: many outlets will tell you to go with a smaller width wheel as a narrower winter tyre will work better than a wider one. There’s obviously truth to this but imho, if you’re in winter weather that is so bad that an OEM set of wheels with OEM sized winter tyres won’t get you were you need to go, you simply shouldn’t be out in any GT version in the first place, as the front end will be acting as a snowplow at that point.

Another benefit of a second set of OEM sized wheels is that you can place different tyres on them and head to the road course, etc.

I don’t plan on driving in Snow but it does get cold here in NY. The temps drop waaay below 45degrees in Oct / November and the car is useless with Summer Performance tires. I want to drive in cold weather . Period.

A set set of winter tires will increase my drive time in the Fall to Early Winter. I will also be able to bring my car out earlier in the season . End of March/ early April may still be cold. The tires would increase my usage .

To each his own, but I like the aggressive OEM look and wanted to minimize the difference between summer and winter. That is why I went with the OEM size for my winter tires and winter wheels that were generally in the same family.

Definitely agree; OEM wheel sizing is the way to go.

I mentioned in the other reply that my offset was ET45.
The guys at AR Motorwerzks are very familiar with AMG fitment, just text or call them, they are very responsive.

Place a separate post on the forum asking for thr OEM sizes and offsets for the GT S wheels. Or call your local dealership parts dept would be my advice. I did a quick google search for you but drew a blank.
