Lowering Springs Labor Hours

How many hours should I expect a quote for an install on a set of H&R springs for my '16 GTS? Anything special to look out for on the install so there are no surprises to me and to the installer?

Thanks in advance.

No surprises, but have 2 packs of alignment shims ordered and in your hands prior to install so you can throw it right on the rack after and properly align, WILL be needed with those springs.

I intentionally forgot what renntech in Atlanta told me but I believe it was six hours which was just stupid to me. How many hours did they quote for you?

6-8 hours was my quote... Add another $60 for alignment.

I would go with KW HAS for adjustable height. In case you have rubbing in the rear you can move it up a notch...

I already have the springs... I know the KW option is better but I wasn't sure I'd keep the car since a GT R has caught my eye... And if I remain in love with my GT S (more and more likely with each passing day), then I'd look into just getting a proper set of coilovers down the road.
I'm assuming labor would be the same with the KW HAS?

Same work plus a bit more time for proper level adjustment on HAS. The hours quoted seem high; have they worked on a lot of GTS's? Was quoted around 5 hours for HAS...

This would be the first GTS... But they do work on a lot of Porsche racecars and streetcars. Not sure how much different the GTS is.

Given that they have to disassemble the interior panels, etc. for the rears, it’ll be nice not for them learn on your car and then bill you for it...

NOBODY is doing a proper alignment on this car with MB shim packs for anything near $60.......RUN!
shim packs alone will cost you $300+ for two kits, and they will have it on the rack for quite a while.

$60.00 -

At first read I thought that was a mis-print -

You want an alignment where they use weights

in the drivers area

that correspond to your weight -

Thank-You

My independent shop that does the non-warranty work on my GT R has set aside 1/2 of a day minimum to re-align the car with the two packs of shims I purchased for them to get a more aggressive alignment. A quote of $60 means that your ‘shop’ has no idea what they are talking about re: suspension work on the GTS. Look elsewhere.

So it seems 5-6 hrs is the standard for the coupe. However I was told by one installer that the roadster (which I have) is much more difficult to do. Entails almost removing the soft top. Closer to 15 hours! Is this accurate???

I had a roaster GTC - take it somewhere else - its marginally more difficult but 1000% not a chance that its double. If they were to change you an extra hour that would cover the added time in the cramped space to get it done.

Would you believe that was from Renntech themselves! And another Renntech dealer said it was because they had to corner weight the car! 🤦‍♂️
