After 20+ hours of research, I settled on the Darwin Pro wing, and it's literally perfect. Was super simple to install too.

Wow that wing is impressive and looks fully functional compared to other wings. Very impressive.

If only you could make a replica of the GT4 wing set up for the GTR, car would be perfect

Ron,

That wing looks fantastic. Can you feel the rear end being more stable on the track? I strongly suspect you can.

Great job!

@MG1422 Why replicate it when you can buy it directly from MB?

@Bish That was a tricky wet track day but I cranked the wing up and made our RWD beast at least managable.

@GTsBoomBoom Yup, I made this. My IG is @ronac__

How can you get it from MB? To my understanding you have to get it from HWA. Please DM if you do have a way/source

Sorry, no I don't have a source but I'm sure there's a way to get it. Maybe you can contact a race team or something.

Mercedes Customer race teams are not permitted to buy parts from HWA and re-sell them on the open market. Contractually, they can't do it. Additionally, a GT4 wing on the back of a GT street car would have to be integrated with front aero changes to be properly functional on the track. The only thing it would really be good for is Cars N Coffee.

Agree that you cant run just a GT4 wing (for performance). If I were able to source one the least of my worries would be sourcing dive panes/splitter as those can be made. Technically you wouldn't need to splitter because the active aero acts as one.

Here's my custom wing I made. Missing a few more items then will be ready to test it at Laguna.

Note: Yes the factory active rear spoiler still functions and has clearance under the wing blade.

Wow that's beastly.

Did you cut the fender liner too for your fender vents?

Yes, soon adding your brake cooling ducts until my new rotors are finished with new backplates that have a direct feed cooling hose

Very nice!

I'd love to add the GTR pro fender vents but don't have the courage to cut up the fenders yet.

That wing is ridiculously large. How much down force does that generate?

youre concerned about aero with those boat anchor wheels you're sporting? Those MB cast wheels are heavy. There’s at least 20lbs of un sprung weight compared to a set of forged aluminum wheels.

I bought the car roughly 4 months ago. I have a set of full carbon Dymag wheels being made for track and another set being made for street. As I stated, waiting for a few more parts.

I have lots of spare race wheels but this car can only run really high offsets with the width it requires. So no choice but to wait.

How much did it cost to do this? this is exactly what I want to do.

Did you have to clearance the deployable wing? Can it be easily returned to stock?
