AMG GTR PRO - Adjustable dampers

Hi All,

My Pro arrives next week, as soon as its PPF'd we're taking it out on track with my motorsport guys to do some tuning. I'm keen to take advantage of the new adjustable suspension. Does anyone have any info on setups etc yet? Does MB supply anything ( Very unlikely )?

Car is going to be setup sort of 60/40 track/road.

Any help appreciated.

I can’t help with any shock settings, but buy 4 boxes of the alignment shims so that you can dial in an aggressive track alignment. Helps tyre wear and handling tremendously.

Congrats on the car btw.

Nothing yet.
For now I did 2 track days bone stock to get a feel for the car.
Have since added some negative camber -2.7 front /-2.2 rear.
Going back out next week, did this in my old GTR and it was quite noticeable.
From there, we will see. So busy I barely have time to make it to track events.
Plan to do some tinkering in the off-season. Only 2 more track days for me this year on the schedule, the price I pay for living in paradise. LOL

My Merc dealership has an ex-Porsche test driver as a sales manager. So I plan to pump him for some information and maybe get him to the track for a few hours one day.

What tires are you running on the track?

Right now running CUP2 ZPs 335/285.
Planning to run Hoosier R7s next year, not because I am at the limit of the CUPs but rather it sounds like I can get more life out of the R7s.

Go with 295 in the front. At COTA I have about a 2.5 second delta from cup2 to R7. With the proper alignment (like the one you have) they should give you 4 good track days. After 4 days i usually get new tires and keep the old ones as backup. I'll be running Pirelli slicks next month in Austin so i will be happy to report here.

Curious about the Pirellis. I assume R7 presents no issues because it’s not a true slick. I’ve always assumed that the loads from proper slicks would be way to much for the standard components.

I'm curious too but there is only one way to find out. To my knowledge there is one guy in Europe that was running pirelli/dunlop/continental slicks on his GTR and had no issues. I have a friend here on the forum who is going to be running michelin slicks next month but not for long enough to really put some stress on the components.

Thinking about it, the biggest Pirelli slick I know of is 19"?

That is correct. I had Finspeed make me some custom forged wheels 19s all around. 19x10.25F and 19x12.5R and i'll be running 295/680/19F 325/705/19R pirelli

Forgot to mention the guy in Europe had a set of 19 inch Forgelines and member on the forum is also running 19 inch Forgelines

Ah, all makes sense now. Brake clearances must be a bit tight?

Personally wont be running slicks on this car but interesting to hear that people are.

Brake clearance is tight in the front but just about the same as the stock wheel. Finspeed is based close by so they had my car for laser measuring/ 3d scanning etc for about 5 days so we could fit the perfect wheel. I originally wanted to go with 18s all around - to have more slick tire options but the problem is the rear actually. The rear steer control and mechanism wont clear an 18in. If i wanted it to work I would've had to take off the rear steer unit and make a couple more modifications.. going into computer and disabling rear steer etc but it was too much modification for what I was comfortable with.

Forgot to mention I have the steel brakes. I not sure an 18 would clear the CCM
